Yellowstone County is seeking a Youth Services Assistant Director to perform professional and technical duties pertaining to the administration of the institution and the coordination of programs for the Youth Services Center.Examples of Duties:- Develops goals, plans and measurements for the identification and evaluation of the Youth Services Center needs.- Manages and supervises the personnel assigned.- Provides guidance and training for staff development and improved performance.- Evaluates staff performance and guide the correction of staff deficiencies.- Weekly, facilitates strategic team meetings.- Conducts individual meetings with Youth Services staff members.- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, promoting collaboration, creativity, and innovation.- Responsible for the supervision and coordination of support programs, i.e., arts and crafts, education, recreation, counseling, food service, medical, building operations/maintenance, and inventory and supply.- Oversee and coordinate staff training and development programs.- Supervise special projects and department functions as assigned and direct personnel as necessary in specific project areas.- Establish staffing patterns and prepare work schedules for employees by overseeing the management team process.Minimum Qualifications:- Graduation from a college or university of recognized standing with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice or a closely related field; and- A minimum of two (2) years' experience working with and counseling youth in crisis at the level of Youth Services Program Supervisor; or a minimum of two (2) years' experience supervising clinical professionals and providing clinical program management; or- Any equivalent combination of experience and training totaling eight (6) years.- Driver's License issued by the State of Montana.- CPR and First Aid Certification (within 6 months).Desired qualifications:- Experience in supervising clinical programs providing youth treatment, working in a general management and supervisory capacity, in a juvenile detention facility or youth counseling. Master's degree in social work, psychology, human services, rehabilitation counseling or sociology desired.Equal Opportunity Employer.
