Scope of Position
The Youth Job Developer provides direct program support in developing work-based training opportunities, utilizing innovative apprenticeship opportunities and credentialed on-the-job trainings. Due to the dynamics of working with job seekers needing additional skills training, this position necessitates a close connection with Business Services, Career Advisors and Quality Assurance to facilitate optimal training placements, monitor training progress, and report accurate outcomes within a team focused environment.This position requires an individual with in-depth knowledge of the program participants in order to identify and partner effectively with employers receptive to providing training-based job opportunities.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Implement recruiting processes and initiatives to identify and connect job seekers requiring skills development with employers providing work-based trainings Establish working relationships with local employers; interact with personnel and/or manager responsible for the hiring and training of new staffSolicit job training opportunities from businesses and support employers with detailed training plans Coordinate with Business Services team to connect with an employer pool specifically targeted to provide work-based trainings to include paid work experiences, credentialed on-the-job trainings, pre-apprenticeships and registered apprenticeshipsUtilize skills assessment tools to measure participants' skill gaps and target skills training needsPartner with in-house recruiters and career advisement teams in utilizing real-time labor market information from employers and facilitate job matching to support positive outcomesContribute to the preparation and execution of accurate contractual agreements and obtaining required signatures within designated time framesFollow up with employee and employer after initial training start to track ongoing progress throughout training timelineOversee job seeker's work-based training to provide career counseling, job coaching, and career mentoring that ensures sustained work experienceAdvocate that each successful work experience employee transition to full unsubsidized employmentDocument all participant contacts and activities in Commonwealth system of recordCoordinate with Employer Services and Quality Assurance mangers in monitoring timely submission of electronic employer training cost invoicing and payroll record documentation of training hours and costs as required or deemed necessaryMaintain organized database of work based training participants' activities, and keep detailed records of all contactsEnsure performance targets, outcomes and goals are met as required by contractShare information with appropriate staff and/or funding agenciesQualifications
