The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) is comprised of a diverse workforce employing approximately 11,000 employees, 800 Military Officers, 380 Military Enlisted Members, 5,500 Government Civilians, and 5,000 contractors. Over 60% of AFRL’s Government Civilian workforce are scientists or engineers conducting, leading, or managing research and 40% are business professionals in finance, contracting, information technology and program management.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the government Workforce Development Team to identify and prioritize subtopics within the 5 AFRL Workforce Development Philosophy areas (Professional Development, Education and Training, Job Development, Career Advancement and Durable Skill Competencies).
Conduct research to identify government and industry best practices as well as identify tools and resources that support the subtopics within the 5 AFRL Workforce Development Philosophy areas.
Develop materials and activities that can be used by supervisors and employees for guided workforce development activities.
Collaborate with the government Workforce Development Team to socialize and deliver the subtopic materials to the AFRL workforce through roadshows, focus groups, organizational all-calls, and the AFRL Supervisor’s Forum.
Develop and execute seminarbased workshops and experiential opportunities that can be used to provide guided instruction to AFRL personnel for highdemand subtopic areas.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum five (5) years of experience designing, implementing, and facilitating workforce development programs and processes.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience in developing and managing strong and complex relationships across an organization as part of a centralized function.
Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex information or abstract ideas clearly to coworkers, managers, and Sr. Leadership.
Experience working in fast-paced environments and have strong time management skills working under tight deadlines.
Experience in planning, organizing and directing in the areas of workforce development, organizational development, talent management and workforce learning.
Experience leading and working in teams.
Experience collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and information.
Possess demonstrated experience in developing and delivering seminar-based workshops.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with diverse audiences and different levels of the organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
