  The Executive Underwriter is primarily responsible for underwriting business through appointed wholesale brokers with a broad focus across many industries.

  Qualifications:

  Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience3+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience; E&S primary casualty underwriting experience preferredExperience working with wholesale insurance brokers preferredDemonstrated success in developing and maintaining solid relationships with all internal and external business partnersExcellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skillsAn ability to think analytically about business problems, make recommendations and propose solutions.High energy self-starter, who is resilient and has an entrepreneurial spiritDemonstration of solid time, organizational, and desk management skillsGoal-oriented and delivers outcomesAbility to challenge the status quo and compete to winSuperior technical knowledge and sound decision-making and analytical skillsValid driver's license as a company pool car may be provided

  Location:

  This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the Boston, MA; Morristown, NJ; Red Bank, NJ; New York, NY; King of Prussia, PA; or Hartford, CT office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

  Compensation

  The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

  $96,640 - $193,560

  The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
