Overview
MHA in Ulster seeks a full-time (35 hours per week) Wellness Coordinator to join our Wellness Services Program. The Wellness Coordinator is responsible for providing trauma informed, non-clinical assistance services to various groups of adults within the wellness services programs to achieve long-term recovery. The Coordinator works with the Director of Wellness Services to provide daily program oversight and meet department goals and objectives, both independently and as a team, while ensuring and maintaining the confidentiality of all agency program participants and department information.
The schedule for this position is Tuesday - Saturday 9 am-4:30 pm, with a late night on Tuesday of 12:30 pm-8 pm.
The Wellness Coordinator makes a pay rate of $19.71 hourly.
Responsibilities Include:
Develop and administer recreational and socialization activities and groups. Oversee and coordinate a timely implementation of the program goals via the activity and group schedules. The activities and groups include activities such as shopping/laundry outings, hiking, movies, social club outings, restaurant outings, large trips, etc.
Provide an opportunity for all participants to choose personal goals and to acquire the skills needed to achieve the goals. Additionally, offer supports needed to make the goals a reality for program participants.
Provide transportation for scheduled activities.
Work with the Director of Wellness Services to meet department goals and objectives, both independently and as a team, and ensure and maintain the confidentiality of all agency program participants and department information.
Provide support and resolve problems associated with the program schedule and activities.
Assist with and conduct program evaluations and recommend appropriate changes. This includes summarizing program progress via outcomes and revising programs as needed to provide the maximum benefits to the greatest number of individuals possible with current resources.
Establish and Maintain outreach opportunities within the community.
Other duties and Wellness Team tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services fieldOR A Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC)
OR an Associate’s Degree in a Human Services field with 1-3 years’ experience in human services
OR a High School Diploma/GED and 3 years experience in human services.
Ability to work as a team member and to handle crisis situations.
A clean, valid NYS driver’s license that will meet and maintain a satisfactory driving record consistent with agency and insurance standards and have been driving for at least 6 years.
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
