POSITION SUMMARY:
This role acts as the “captain” of Thruways warehousing facilities to ensure Thruway’s warehouse operates efficiently. Overall responsibilities for warehouse performance including but not limited to; people, process, product, physically receive, pick, pack, kit, ship and ensure cycle-count is on schedule. Warehouse Manager will facilitate continuous improvement and personal growth while supporting branch personnel alignment with all company core values, mission, and vision. Safe operation of all equipment is the top priority of this position. The Warehouse Manager will follow all customer and Thruway Inc. safety requirements, defaulting to the more stringent requirements. Safely operate Thruway vehicles and maintain a clean driving record. Solve problems, offer guidance and know when to share information with Sales, Management and other Thruway staff as needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managing and prioritizing all regular orders on an ongoing basis while reallocating resources to meet all “High Priority” orders.
Coordinate all incoming and outgoing shipments and have a close working relationship with all freight carriers.
Ensure receiving, pulling, packing, kitting (internal) and shipping is completed on a daily basis.
Leads by example in the safe operation of all equipment and monitors/stops any unsafe practice or report any unsafe condition to the General Manager.
Communicate with all branch personnel including corporate departments (IT, Acct., SCM, Sourcing, Quality) and collaborate with customer teams to solve specific challenges and leverage growth opportunities.
Manage workflow to assist staff in balancing priorities, providing backup support if needed and ensuring that all work is accomplished with an appropriate sense of urgency.
Through communication, decisions and behavior by example, create a culture that works together to exceed customers’ expectations and places Thruway as “Trusted Advisors”
Promote an environment of empowerment, respect, and trust while holding team members accountable for their actions.
Ensure staff have performance reviews with documented goals and objectives. Provide informal feedback on a regular basis
On a daily basis ensure that the building interior and exterior is inspected for safety and cleanliness.
Participate in the recruiting and interviewing process of new employees.
Trains all Warehouse personnel in their job description/expectations
Coordinate all preventative maintenance and upkeep of all warehouse equipment and Thruway owned delivery vehicles.
Strong knowledge of all KEY, TARGET and KEY SUB Customer specific requirements and parts
Strong knowledge of all branch Vendor Managed Inventory
Monitoring and maintaining branch adherence to policies and procedures to the standards outlined in the Quality Manual, Employee handbook, etc.
Ensures 5S (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) principals within all work areas and external branch grounds to enhance cleanliness and organization in all areas.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Minimum Associates Degree and five years of Warehouse Management experience
This Individual must possess a positive attitude and excellent communication skills that will allow for constant interaction with a cross section of Thruway staff and functions from various departments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts
Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
Regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear
Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
Regularly move or lift objects up to 50 lbs
