An opportunity has arisen within Moody's Australian Project & Infrastructure team for a senior analyst to assume lead coverage of a diversified portfolio of debt issuers in the Australian infrastructure sector. Primary responsibilities of this role include timely and high quality credit analysis and monitoring to support ratings accuracy, along with managing senior level relationships, both within and external to Moody's. A core part of the role is writing topical and insightful research on individual companies as well as broader thematic issues, and to lead associated investor outreach.

Responsibilities and Desired Experience:
Analytics
Serve as lead analyst for a portfolio of infrastructure issuers in Australia, which includes airports, utilities, toll roads, and projects. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a deep understanding of these sectors.
Conduct credit research, including analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, development of financial forecasts, review of transaction documents, and assessment of credit quality in a manner consistent with Moody's rating methodologies.
Well-developed presentation skills, characterised by the ability to present in a clear, thoroughly-researched and articulate manner in a range of internal and external forums.
Work collaboratively with fellow analysts, particularly by adding additional perspectives.
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Research & Outreach
Author compelling company specific and sector related research, including credit reports, sector comments and industry outlooks; ability to balance research and outreach responsibilities with daily transaction and surveillance activity.
Develop and manage high profile relationships with senior issuer executives, investors, intermediaries and the media; existing contacts will be advantageous.
Present at conferences, attend industry events, and participate in stakeholder meetings to help raise the visibility and leadership of Moody's franchise in the sector.
Leadership
Participate in strategic projects to support team effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Form constructive working relationships with diverse staff located throughout region.
Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to junior staff.
Qualifications
Graduate in accounting, finance, banking, economics or related discipline with postgraduate qualifications strongly desired.
A minimum of 10 years of relevant analytical experience preferably with a financial institution in a credit role.
Strong quantitative aptitude and demonstrated analytical ability, including advanced knowledge of MS Excel and financial/statistical research capabilities.
Previous experience writing research in either a credit market or equity context would be advantageous.
Articulate and succinct communication skills both verbally and written, with extensive public speaking experience ideal.
Strong organizational skills with sound judgment.
Mature and balanced personality with ability to manage high level and often complex client relationships.
