The Technology organization of Alight Solutions is responsible for the life cycle planning of business applications through the phases of strategize, architect, select, deploy, operate, evolve, and retire. The Platform Leader is an experienced engineering leader with a track record of building and leading high performance engineering teams, and demonstrated success at high-growth, global companies who will our platform vision forward for building or configuring, maintaining or enhancing, and eventually decommissioning applications and services through their life cycle.
What You'll Do:
Provide leadership, vision, and direction to the Alight platform organization to ensure it will contribute to the company achieving its goals.Lead with a SaaS/PaaS Cloud mindset driving the continuous delivery of the Alight technology platform.Partner with Product, Engineering and Delivery to develop the overall platform strategy and influence how our platform can enable new sources of value.Define and enhance methodologies and practices for the application life cycle management.Establish reporting, metrics and benchmarks to ensure on-time, high quality continuous delivery.Manage the platform team, developing their skills and capabilities to meet the needs of the organization, as well as building on existing recruiting capabilities to address new needs and skills gaps.Manage vendors and service providers to ensure they cost-effectively meet the needs of the organization.Oversee the technical and business fitness of the platform and how it services applications and their associated costs and risks.Facilitate the platform governance process to gain consensus on a prioritized set of measurable business outcomes that applications must support.Oversee support activities in conjunction with infrastructure and operations to ensure the platform perform well in production.Work with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to ensure that the organization's applications are effectively secured and that risks are mitigated.Deliver on goals and culture of the organization.Ability to adjust with rapid change in business needs, processes, and technologies.
What You'll Need:
Experience : 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership, with deep technical experience delivering highly secure SaaS and cloud-based (AWS, Azure, GCP) products and platforms at scaleProven track record of building and leading high performance engineering teams, and with demonstrated success at high-growth companies with a global presence.Experience leading the entire technology lifecycle from identifying needs, through design, implementation, maintenance and, when appropriate, end of life.Experience managing at all levels, including mentoring, and coaching individual contributors on software engineering best practices, technical architecture and other complex technical challenges.Ability to manage and plan at both the strategic and operational levels and to consistently meet or exceed planned objectives.Critical thinking, strategic acumen, and the ability to translate business priorities into an engineering plan of action with appropriate metrics to track progress.Exceptional judgment and decision-making skills. Able to weigh multiple, sometimes conflicting points-of-view and drive a decision.Deep appreciation of how you operationalize and measure performance of engineering teams.Experienced in Lean IT, agile development, and DevOps principles and frameworks. Experience transitioning an organization from traditional practices to agile development methodologies.

Pay Transparency Statement: Alight takes into consideration a candidate's experience, education, certification/credentials, market data, internal equity, and geography when determining an offer for a successful employment candidate, and Alight does so on an individualized, non-discriminatory basis. Therefore, an offer may fall anywhere between the estimated minimum base salary for this role of $200,000.00/year (for full time employees) and the estimated maximum base salary for this role of $275,000.00/year (for full time employees). In addition to a base salary, this position may be eligible for a bonus and/or other incentive plans.
