Dolby is looking for a leader to head and grow our Home Devices business line within the Consumer Entertainment business. We provide audio and imaging solutions to designers and manufacturers of home entertainment devices like TVs, Set-top boxes (STBs), Digital Media Adapters (DMAs), soundbars, AVRs, wireless speakers, and to providers of ICs and Operating Systems that drive these devices. These solutions allow home device manufacturers to create compelling products for consumers that can participate in the content ecosystems that Dolby builds.
Dolby's predominant business model, in Consumer Entertainment, is one of creating great entertainment experiences, building an ecosystem that delivers those experiences and then monetizing primarily through licensing technologies into consumer electronic devices. Our latest generation of entertainment experiences are Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision, and the latest generation of our audio codec is Dolby AC-4. Success in this role is defined as maximing the impact of Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision and Dolby AC-4, both in the market and for Dolby.
Responsibilities: Within Dolby, this role has primary responsibility for products for and revenue from the Home. You'll be responsible for setting the vision for your business and for executing towards fulfilling that vision. This involves communicating your strategy to the broader organization and ensuring that it is well understood. Acts with the mindset of a general manager in a functionally organized company. You will collaborate with other key functions (content ecosystem teams, engineering, research, marketing, sales, customer support, finance, legal) to deliver value to the industry and grow the Dolby business Grow the business in terms of revenue and scope of products Develop a segmented view of the market. Within that segmented view, have clearly defined and articulated value propositions for customer and consumer segments Lead a team of product managers that identify market opportunities and define products. You'll create a well-defined long-term product roadmap, with clearly defined value propositions for each product line and product version. Lead the team that develops Go-to-Market strategies for the Home Devices business. This involves identifying the right sequencing of activities and helping the broader organization understand and execute the GTM strategy. Decides the priority of different product and business initiatives within your resource envelope Requirements: Deep knowledge of the home entertainment industry. Will very likely have worked multiple years in home entertainment Technical expertise equivalent to a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer science Has Product DNA. Likes products. Track record of delivering value to the market through products Ability to handle complexity and simplify it for others. The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $269,800 - 335,200 plus bonus, equity, and benefits, and can vary if outside of this location. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
