The Business Development Officer will be responsible for originating, structuring, and closing Factoring and Asset-Based Loan facilities and working with bank partners to deliver a full suite of commercial banking products. CIT is searching for an experienced Business Development Officer to provide comprehensive financing solutions in support of prospects' strategic objectives.

Job Responsibilities:
Originate new business by identifying, sourcing, and closing Factoring opportunities across a variety of industries, with an emphasis on certain assigned geographic territory.Responsible for independently developing and implementing a sales strategy, identifying appropriate potential clients and referral sources, and maintain consistent calling effort to enhance long term relationships.Identify new opportunities by establishing a direct calling program with prospects and existing clients to ultimately deliver new and enhanced Factoring solutions.Identify the appropriate CIT solution for each opportunity, structure the financing solution, obtain internal approval and pitch to solution to the prospect.Coordinate and partner with First Citizens Commercial Bankers to identify cross-sell opportunities.Identify and cultivate third party intermediaries to source new opportunities.To achieve performance and revenue goals, apply an understanding of the prospect's industry, unique financing needs, and current risk profile. Develop and conduct prospect meetings that ultimately lead to delivering deal proposals.Partner with the underwriting team to tailor solutions to proactively meet the prospect's needs while effectively managing CIT's risk exposure; manage prospect expectations throughout the deal process ensuring a successful close.Identify and attend relevant and appropriate industry and regional events and trade shows for networking and new business opportunities as appropriate.At least 50% business travel required to cover assigned geographic region.Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance or related field required; MBA desiredMinimum 5 years' experience in Asset Based Lending or Factoring; experience in sales and orginations (preferred)
Other/Preferred Qualifications:
Exceptional origination skills with proven record of achieving and exceeding performance goals by demonstrating ability to generate new opportunities from direct calling on companies, partnering with internal bankers and/ or third-party intermediaries.Demonstrated presentation, sales, negotiation and influencing skills with a general knowledge of market deal structures and current market and economic conditions.Exceptional analytical skills.Ability to prepare prescreen memos that identify and mitigate financial, operational and regulatory risks.Strong external communication and strategy skills to facilitate prospect relationship building.Demonstrated success working collaboratively to achieve team goals.Proficient computer skills, including the ability to develop and maintain a contact database and maintain records in SalesForce.com.
