Provide direction for controls equipment locations for safety, maintenance and production consideration for tool install and through launch
Provide direction for X-ray part inspection in a factory setting: aluminum high pressure die casted parts
Support implementation of plasma cutting robot applications and robot 3D measurement systems
Willingness and ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays to ensure completion of assignments
Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally – up to 70%
Aid with defining Factory Information System (FIS) assets at PLC level
Support coordination between tooling supplier and plant floor systems supplier for FIS, ILVS, IBSS, etc.
Support integration of Plant Facilities supplied equipment: energy supplies, operator lift tables.
Verify all Ford safety standards are adhered
Perform debug and tool buyoff of controls functions that support maintenance and production, i.e. fault diagnostics, manual screen functions, robot control screens, and all remain panel view functions at the plant.
Validate the implementation of controls Task updates.
Provide support for plants to resolve controls issues and concerns
Provide feedback/lessons learned to the controls standard group.
Ensure cross commodity tooling consistency
Mentor tooling suppliers to provide safe, consistent, reliable and maintainable tooling
Verify common Ford programming practices are followed
Support standard group for the control’s design/build checklists for each tool prior to scheduled buyoff, as required
Perform the PLC/robot safety risk assessments and sign EL10 documents.
Review, track and help resolve controls issues during launch phase.
Assist in the development of a robust prove out and test plan for any new interfaces being developed
Coordinate controls open-issue meetings between all the tooling/facility integrators and the plant during the launch phase.
Support FIS and throughput meetings and issues.
BSE or a degree in a related field (Mechanical or Electrical)
Demonstrated ability with robots, preferably: Kawasaki and Fanuc Robots
In-depth knowledge and experience in controls architectures
Experience with aluminum high pressure die casting presses and processes
Knowledge of Material handling robots remove the part from the press
Experience with the development and launch of new controls, processes, and facilities
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD 2000 and Rockwell Software Suite
Experiences in Ethernet, Device Net, Profinet, Profibus, etc., networking, especially Ethernet/IP
3 or more years of controls experience
Demonstrated aptitude to learn and apply new technologies
Demonstrated ability to work as effective member in the team
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Validated high level communication and leadership skills
