Job Description
Responsibilities:
GEHC virtual machines allow us to run medical device software in the cloud or on laptops.
Following supervisor’s directions, maintain current and future deployments of Virtual Machines downloadable and cloud-based technology.
Work across GE Healthcare modalities and regions to deliver compatible virtual machines utilizing standard specifications.
Work to improve VM usage - downloadable and cloud versions.
Document and communicate VM usage, issues, and successes.
Provide troubleshooting to support users.
Enable users to download VMs to their laptops and ensure robustness of VMs running on GE Laptops.
Use GEHC IT security rules to enforce security and protect GEHC intellectual property associated with VMs and to protect patient information appropriately.
Responsible to deliver, troubleshoot, and set up cloud based virtual classrooms.
Create standard operating procedures, and support documentation.
Support of GEHC virtual machines. This can include setup or repairs, technical support, or a field service request.
Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution.
The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering OR 5 years of experience in a related occupation.
2+ years' experience with virtual machines.
2+ years' experience with troubleshooting and analyzing systems.
2+ years' experience extracting applicable information during a troubleshooting process and using that information to help resolve issues remotely.
40 hrs/wk, 8:00am-5:00pm, M-F
Preferences:
Ability to communicate technical solutions effectively.
Experience working in a global support environment.
Experience with multiple modalities in a medical device manufacturer.
Experience with JavaScript and other programming languages.
