Job Summary:
Reporting to Equinix's Chief Marketing Officer, the Vice President of Product Marketing will bring innovative products to market in collaboration with Product Management and act as technology domain expert developing product positioning and differentiation. This Executive will be responsible for articulating the value and positioning of Equinix's products to customers, prospects, partners, sales teams, analysts, and other key internal and external stakeholders. Equinix's VP Product Marketing will help motivate development and implementation of Future of Platform initiatives, while also managing project milestones and influencing teams to improve impact and scale.
Responsibilities:
Portfolio positioning & Messaging
Translate the product vision and strategy into messaging that positions the value of the entire portfolio from an "outside in" perspective, encompassing present and future offerings.Deliver messaging and positioning tailored to products and the portfolio, customized across various content modalities, channels, and internal/external audience categories. Create demos for on-stage big moments, on the web, and customers discussions. And on a regular cadence, working with Brand and Product management for visualization of the product brands. Work with Product Management/Engineering on Product Launch orchestration, ensuring product truth across audiences to tell holistic stories. Develop thought leadership content and translate internal feature roadmap into externally consumable and regularly updated articulation of customer value deliveries, both current and future.Regular engagement with Analysts to drive understanding of feature, benefits outcome and market differentiation.Advocate product business outcome by engaging target customers in multiple platforms including customer advocacy board.
Customer Segmentation & Targeting
Represents investment proposals to executive management.Partner with Product Management and Segment Marketing to understand and map customer needs to target markets, actively determining which to pursue.Collaborate with Digital Services, Data Center Services functions and Solution Marketing to develop and document targeted personas for specific service offerings and the customer buying process, determining appropriate sales distribution strategies.Collaborate with Marketing functions and Sales to develop and promote the best product storytelling.
Commercial Activation
Activate and develop marketing plans across multiple GTM channels by leveraging the full breadth of Equinix's GTM capabilities to meet product targets; ensure alignment across the organization on priority and clarity in terms of what to sell.Support development of commercial structures and packages to achieve financial goals of Product organization, including sales/partner/customer promotions and incentives, as well as product feature updates, promotions, etc., through appropriate channels.Drive and deliver insights and feedback on awareness, sales effectiveness, uptake for the product portfolio and product launch success.Be accountable for the market success of the product portfolio together with the Product and Sales organizations.
Intelligence and Instrumentation
Lead cross-functional efforts to create appropriate quantitative proof points regarding performance of Platform Equinix and its product portfolio relative to alternatives and substitutes.Maintain documentation and incorporate performance benchmarking into marketing materials and forums.Drive and deliver insights on awareness, sales effectiveness, and uptake for the product portfolio.Work cross-functionally, applying data science to unearth ways to assess and expand demand for the product portfolio.
Knowledge and Experience sought:
Substantial product marketing and/ management experience in a leadership role, preferably in a recurring services business model and/ Cloud SaaS and Software companiesProven ability to operate in matrix organizational environment and complex stakeholder groupExperience in managing large team development with proven success in scaling of teamsSignificant experience in market launching differentiated solutions that target enterprise CIO/CTOWell-developed understanding of the Enterprise IT stack, the evolving cloud landscape and its impact and potential for the Enterprise marketProven experience and excellent presence in delivering persuasive presentations at internal leadership meetings, analyst briefings, industry events and webinarsProven success in uncovering the voice of customer insights with target audience using market research, customer advisory boards and interlock with Sales and Customer Success
