About the Opportunity
Ellucian is seeking a Vice President of Corporate Development to join our strategy and development organization reporting to our Chief Strategy Officer. This is a high impact; highly visible role where you will be responsible for defining and executing the corporate development strategy for Ellucian. This role involves identifying and evaluating strategic growth opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic investments.
The VP of Corporate Development will collaborate closely with our executive leadership & equity owners to help accelerate the company's strategic vision & expansion and overall success. This is a challenging and dynamic role that requires strategic thinking, a keen business sense, and the ability to navigate complex transactions to drive the company's growth agenda.
Where you will make an impact
Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)
Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets that align with the company's growth strategy.Lead due diligence efforts, including financial, legal, and operational assessments.Negotiate and execute M&A transactions, ensuring they align with the company's objectives and financial goals.Oversee post-acquisition integration efforts to maximize synergies and value.Work closely with financial teams to secure necessary funding and investments to support the company's growth initiatives.Market Research and Analysis
Financial Modeling
Develop detailed financial models to analyze the financial performance of the company and potential acquisition targets.Create forecasts and projections to assess the impact of different strategic initiatives on the company's financials.
Due Diligence
Participate in due diligence activities for potential acquisitions, including reviewing financial statements, contracts, and other relevant documents.Work with cross-functional teams to assess the strategic fit and identify potential risks and opportunities.
Deal Structuring
Collaborate with legal and other teams to structure and negotiate deals that align with the company's strategic objectives.Assess the financial implications of different deal structures and financing options.
Market Research & Analysis
Continuously monitor market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging opportunities to inform corporate development strategies.Conduct market and industry research to identify potential targets and opportunities.
What you will bring
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).Proven experience in corporate development, M&A, and partnerships/deals within the enterprise software, banking, or private equity space.Strong negotiation and deal structuring skills.Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship building skillsHands on financial acumen.
