POSITION SUMMARY
The VP Finance role is a multi-faceted, dynamic role with the primary purpose of supporting, driving, and leading the brands, functions, and markets to meet TR APAC and TRWW strategic priorities and financial objectives (e.g. NS, NOP, MOC). The role includes recurring financial processes- monthly closing and financial estimate processes + annual processes such as the LRP and budget- and many ad hoc projects to drive the business depending on the ever-changing conditions of the business (e.g. commercial negotiation support). A successful candidate will be a self-starter who recognizes the financial objectives and goals of the region and can identify opportunities to accelerate and drive business performance.
Financial Responsibility for TR APAC
Drive the brands, functions, and markets to meet the financial commitments and KPIs of the region which include, but are not limited to, Net Sales and NOP. Beyond meeting the traditional bonus targets is the need to meet other strategic financial objectives such as MOC, reductions in returns and discounts, improved Gross Margin, employee productivity, etc. Lead and oversee monthly financial processes (e.g. month-end close, monthly performance reviews, IBP, financial estimates, capital estimates, employee productivity,) annual processes (e.g. strategy, LRP support, annual budget cycle) and ad hoc projects as business challenges and opportunities arise (e.g. inventory task force, demo productivity deep dives, door profitability.) Support the SVP TR APAC Region, Brand VP/GMs, Commercial/Market leads, head of functions with their financial support needs. Includes: retailer negotiations/meetings, ELC VIP visits, TR NY/Global Brand requests. Lead and support the FP&A business managers to satisfy a multitude of requests from the TR APAC LT or from TR NY. Compile and share written or verbal feedback regarding monthly performance RS, NS, NOP and other KPIs. Participate in monthly TR APAC LT meetings and IBP reviews. Support ELC global projects and initiatives from the CFO office, Transformation team, etc. (e.g. Metrics that Matter, War on Waste, Square, NEXT, etc) Responsible for submitting financial requirements (e.g. reporting package to NY, local statutory reporting) accurately, timely and in accordance with US GAAP, local statutory requirements, ELC financial policies, Sarbanes Oxley. Ensure controls and compliance is of the highest standards and meet internal and external audit requests and reviews. Oversee Brand Accounting for TRWW.
Lead and Develop the TR APAC Finance and Operations Team
Provide strong leadership to FP&A, Accounting, and other matrix teams (IP, SC, and Regulatory) Lead by example and set high workplace operating standards, values, and expectations. Balance the workload and protect the team from a high volume of requests. Regular meetings to prioritize requests/tasks and find the most efficient path to complete is a must. Deliver as quickly as possible and manage the expectations of the many stakeholders. Develop strategic goals for the team and implement via the PDP process. Support team members with development and career progression at ELC. Develop succession planning. Grow talent and HIPOs. Provide on the job coaching, constructive feedback, development opportunities, and recognize/celebrate strong performances.
Qualifications
KEY REQUIREMENTS
CPA or equivalent (required). Master's Degree, or equivalent, in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance (preferred). Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards. Strong analytical skills including the ability to analyze financial data and complex technical accounting requirements, related to US GAAP, local GAAP/IFRS for related affiliates and statutory requirements. Strong financial acumen and agility to pivot as needed. At least 10 years of professional experience in a controllership or similar position, preferably within the consumer products industry. Fluent in English, speaking and writing. Proven manageMent and leadership qualities in a multi-national and multi-culture environment. Ability to lead and manage a diverse team of international staff as well as to interact effectively with management and external parties. Strong verbal and writing communication skills - must be able to express ideas effectively in individual and group situations. Able to interact and communicate effectively with Senior Management. Strong Inter-Personal skills including: 1) Individual Leadership/Influencing - inspiring and guiding others toward goal achievement and 2) Teamwork/Collaboration - working effectively with teams and work groups. Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word. Able to travel for work at around 20% of the time.
