About the Role
The Vice President – Client Solutions and Relationship Management ("VP") of Maples Fund Services reports to the Regional Head of Fund Services - Asia ("RHFSA").
The VP’s role encompasses: (1) revenue generation within regions of oversight; and (2) liaising with the RHFSA, Senior Vice President - Head of Fund Administration, Singapore (“SVP HFA Singapore”) and Senior Business Development Manager to ensure delivery of regional Fund Services campaigns. T
Primary responsibilities include:
Business Development
Developing and executing plans to meet or exceed targets for incremental revenue as budgeted at the beginning of each fiscal year;Instituting a disciplined sales process that enables management of all prospective deals through a sales lifecycle that maximises the efficiency of sales activities and enables timely and accurate sales tracking;Ensuring that accurate and comprehensive information related to client and prospect interactions is captured in relevant systems (such as Opportunity platform, InterAction or Primacy);
Fostering internal awareness within the Maples group – including Maples and Calder and Maples Fiduciary Services – of the scope of capabilities offered by Maples Fund Services;
Becoming a subject matter expert on the capabilities of Maples Fund Services globally and cross selling the global service model to the greatest extent possible;Increasing the profile of Maples Fund Services by representing the firm at industry events;Maintaining active contact with a targeted network of industry participants in order to generate business opportunities;Recommending innovative ways of building the Maples Fund Services business to the RHFSA, including looking for and following up on opportunities for new product development; andPlaying an active role in coordinating necessary parties within the Maples group to secure new mandates.
Marketing Strategy and Campaign Management
Working with the SVP HFA Singapore, Senior Business Development Manager and RHFSA to create regional campaigns that include specific objectives, revenue targets, business development activities and marketing activities;Continuously monitoring progress and effectiveness of marketing plans, and proposing adjustments as necessary;Liaising with the RHFSA, SVP HFA Singapore and Senior Business Development Manager to ensure coordination of all aspects of campaign execution between Business Development, Public Relations and Marketing Communications staff;Gathering and communicating market research, competitive intelligence and relevant industry developments to the Fund Services Operating Committee; andWorking with the SVP HFA Singapore, Senior Business Development Manager to ensure Maples Fund Services marketing literature is current and accurate.
Budgeting, Financial Management and Reporting
Working with the SVP HFA Singapore, Senior Business Development Manager to develop marketing budgets that are aligned with marketing plans and campaigns - reviewing and agreeing them with the RHFSA;Working with the SVP HFA Singapore and Senior Business Development Manager to monitor and assess the effectiveness of marketing and business development related expenditures – including travel costs and client entertainment;Liaising with the SVP HFA Singapore and Senior Business Development Manager to negotiate, evaluate and leverage conference costing and event sponsorship opportunities for Maples Fund Services as required;Ensuring timely and accurate submission of all monthly business development reports summarising sales results, deal statuses, and activities underway;Working with the SVP HFA Singapore and Senior Business Development Manager to monitor and prepare monthly marketing campaign reporting – including leads generation statistics;Preparing ad-hoc business development reports, including management reporting to the Executive Management Committee; andProactively ensuring that administrative matters - such as expense report submissions, trip notes and conference reporting - are completed in a timely manner and in line with company policy.
Risk Management
Evaluating terms of deals to ensure reasonable risk-reward profiles to the Maples Group, including fee levels and any amendments to standard terms and conditions, involving legal counsel, the SVP HFA Singapore, RHFSA, Global Head Fund Services or the CEO as necessary;Ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures, including trip planning protocol, media communication policies, and documentation of client interactions; andReporting any business issues on a timely basis to the SVP HFA Singapore, RHFSA and/or Chief Risk Officer.
Relationship Management
Developing and continuously improving business partnerships with client decision makers, ensuring Maples Fund Services is viewed as the trusted and preferred service provider - actively seeking feedback on the effectiveness of service delivery, leading efforts to improve client satisfaction;Proactively consulting with clients on detected opportunities and problems - ensuring that the clients, SVP HFA Singapore, RHFSA and team members are informed on key issues and resolving escalated client issues with relevant client service team members;Anticipating client's needs beyond current projects/engagements, adding to the client’s short-term and long-term business results – understanding clients and their operating environment and circumstances, and the strategic issues that may impact them;Working with the Senior Business Development Manager, SVP HFA Singapore and RHFSA to define and execute a CRM programme with a view to increase share of wallet within our existing clients by cross-selling additional services; andAssisting and advising client service teams on complex and sensitive client matters.
What You Bring
In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:
A minimum of 10 years’ business development / client account management experience in the financial services industry;Strong administration, verbal communication and business writing skills including excellent presentation skillsSolution oriented with strong organisational, time management skills and a proactive client service focus;Ability to work independently or with a team within a fast paced strict deadline environment to a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail Benefits & Rewards
