VCA Hawthorn Animal Hospital seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician to become part of our Hospital Leadership as the Veterinary Technician Supervisor!

In the Veterinary Technician Supervisor Role your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Directing workflow on the floor
Cultivate an inclusive work environment and strong hospital culture
Work cohesively with hospital management to aid in the progression of the hospital
Help with the interview process for potential new hires and onboard all new associates
Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills
Conduct staff meetings
Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience
Mentoring technicians and assistants within the hospital
Resolve conflicts in a professional and humble manner
Refining and implementing protocols
Ensure that all members of the technical staff implement VCA policies, guidelines, and recommendations.
Perform various medical procedures such as vaccinations, dental cleanings, and surgical assistance.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Conduct laboratory tests and analyze results to aid in the diagnosis of illnesses.
Monitor anesthesia during surgeries and assist in recovery procedures.
Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and medication administration.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients.
Provide compassionate and gentle handling of animals to minimize stress and ensure their well-being.
Assist in the maintenance of veterinary equipment and supplies.
Participate in continuing education and training to stay updated on the latest advancements in veterinary medicine.
QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed Veterinary Technician- CVT, LVT, RVT,
2 + years of clinical experience
Passion for Veterinary Medicine
Schedule: Full-time opportunity with flexible scheduling, 4 x 10 hours .
Compensation: Starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.
