Job Description
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role will require an independent leader to help define and work with cross-functional teams in country to develop plans and drive solutions to enable high quality launch events of all the GMPI portfolio
Manage communication of timing and status for GM China engineering work, drive China unique issues and resolution, communicate visibility of vehicle and validation readiness for sale
Manage and drive in-country Engineering launch activities for all products including preparation for property Engineering logistics, GM China fleet and property management, warehouse logistics to delivery sale ready vehicle in country, and ensure GM global practices are known and adhered to in China and drive visibility of any deviations
Drive JV (including backoffice) and other external partners escalation issues to resolutions cross functionally to ensure the success of the product in country
Additional Job Description
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Deep knowledge of GM’s ICE and Electric Vehicle development process, including, deep knowledge of electric vehicle sub-systems.
Thorough understanding of the Engineering, validation, quality, purchasing, finance, and marketing organizations including during the launch phase of the programs
Multi-functional experiences in ideally more than one of the functions listed above
Proven track record as successful Engineer/Program Engineering Manager or Vehicle leader
Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the business: design, planning, engineering, manufacturing, marketing, as well as program planning.
Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering
