The capabilities of the Integrated Access Strategy (IAS) group, within the Global Value Access & Pricing (GVA&P) function, positions Amgen for future success against this business-critical imperative. This team is responsible for strategic planning of value and access for all Amgen molecules in development, beginning in Phase I-II and extending throughout commercialization across the Amgen portfolio. Additionally, the team is responsible for global strategic pricing, including recommendations for global price bands and indication/country launch sequence.
In this vital role the Senior Manager for IAS who will be assigned to an Access Strategy Lead (ASL) in obesity to support the payer planning process, the creation of payer strategic plans and pull through of these plans. The Senior Manager will be responsible for project execution including, but not limited to, analysis of customer and competitor trends which inform access and pricing opportunities, vendor selection and management, and generating final documentation of project results.
The Senior Manager will work across functions to ensure a comprehensive view of assigned products, and create and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with key partners. These partners include colleagues in marketing, clinical development, health economics, regulatory, operations, and government affairs. In addition, the Senior Manager will work closely with General Medicine access leads in the top 10 Countries.
Key Responsibilities:
Support development of go-to-market strategy of pipeline assets including creation of strategy, payer research, contracting strategies, payer policy and partnerships
Co-create reimbursement strategies to continue to grow and defend our products
Co-create launch pricing strategy with the ASL and update/review pricing policy with operational pricing and review requests from top 10 countries
Support franchise level initiatives to develop the General Medicine market and franchise, with a focus on payers & policy makers
The role may involve travel (less than 15% domestic and international).

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of payer, market access and/or analytics experience
Or
Master’s degree and 4 years of payer, market access and/or analytics experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of payer, market access and/or analytics experience
Or
Associate’s Degree and 10 years of payer, market access and/or analytics experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of payer, market access and/or analytics experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong understanding of payer environment in major countries, including coverage and reimbursement, pricing, value drivers, formulary management, health technologies assessment, health policy
Ability to conduct situation analysis of external pricing and reimbursement environment and synthesize relevant information to develop strategic plans
Ability to develop and test value messages and value evidence with payers in order to determine the most compelling way in which to demonstrate and communicate product value to payers
Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative pricing studies and to formulate price policy recommendations
Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and succeed in a highly matrixed environment; strong oral/written presentation skills
Direct payer experience and/or experience in product commercialization pharmaceutical pricing experience
Previous international (ex-US) assignment
