OVERVIEW
Lincoln Center's Guest Experience team seeks highly motivated, customer service-oriented, Part-Time Performance Ushers to assist in facilitating a superior guest experience for those attending Lincoln Center Events held at David Geffen Hall and Alice Tully Hall. The successful candidate will have previous ushering or hospitality experience, preferably in a theatrical setting.
The position is a union-represented role and employees are required to join the Local 306 union within 30 days of employment. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to Lincoln Center's policies and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet patrons attending events presented at David Geffen Hall and Alice Tully Hall.Exemplify guest excellence characteristics in all interactions with patrons, guests, and fellow co-workers.Distribute event materials to guests as needed.Assist patrons with mobility devices into and out of performance spaces, and those requiring seating assistance within the Halls.Provide accurate information about an event or venue upon request, including directions within and outside of the Halls, and other venues or attractions on campus.Ensure performance house rules, such as entry, exit, late seating, photography etc. are adhered to, and maintain access control to performance areas.Notify supervisory staff and/or security staff of any emergency situations immediately as they occur.
QUALIFICATIONS
Proven customer service experience.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.Computer proficiency with the ability to use a computer to review event schedule, indicate work availability and sign up for work, and join potential training courses offered online.Flexible availability is a must, including being able to work during matinee, evening, and weekend performancesAdditional requirements include ability to read and interpret ticket information, distribute, and pick up playbills and other printed materials, open, close, and hold entrance doors to the Hall, and use radio communications equipment to stay in contact with co-workers, performance managers and take direction as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Position requires individuals to be standing on their feet for extended periods of time during their shiftPosition requires the ability to maneuver walkers and wheelchair equipment (occupied and unoccupied) on flat and inclined surfaces.
