Position Overview
As part of Autodesk's Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC Design) division, the BID (Building and Infrastructure Design) business provides industry-leading solutions for modern construction and design needs. Under Autodesk's vast portfolio, BID products include widely recognized software like Revit and Civil 3D, catering to architects, engineers, and construction professionals globally. These tools are important to facilitating collaborative workflows, offering 3D design and visualization capabilities, and ensuring efficient project management in the building and infrastructure industry.
As we evolve to meet the dynamic needs of the construction world, we are on a quest to find a dynamic User Experience Research Manager. You will be dedicated to enhancing our product strategy and user experience for the BID portfolio. By harnessing user insights, you will aim to shape the future of our BID tools, all while applying our cloud-based everyday data environment.
Reporting to the Director of User Experience Research for AEC Design, you will dive deep into the nuances of our users' needs, preferences, and challenges, while managing an established team of experienced UX Researchers. The goal is to ensure that our BID products are not just tools but essential enablers for our users, redefining how they work with project data while aligning with the overarching strategy of the AEC Platform, transforming their industry in the process.
Responsibilities
Advocate for user-driven, evidence-based design principles across product workflows, ensuring alignment with our overarching business strategyEstablish connections with team leads across Autodesk to foster a cohesive understanding of current user needs and anticipate future requirementsHelp build the UX research narrative throughout Autodesk, advocating for an inclusive and team-oriented approachCurate and implement a focused vision for contemporary user experience research, harmonizing both research insights across a global platformPartner with business and product leadership to construct research pathways that aid both executive and product team decision-making processesAdvocate for and participate in developing the Autodesk Research Community and its operational platforms, ensuring agreement on Autodesk's goalsManage a research team, providing daily coaching, ensuring their growth aligns with the broader vision of the research practiceEnsure the credibility and reliability of qualitative and quantitative data, while addressing any potential challenges to its legitimacyWork with partners in product analytics and data science to guide a more comprehensive user story with behavioral analytics and experimentationStay informed of technology and industry trends, summarizing data sources to inform our business and product strategy
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of hands-on experience in UX research, versed in both quantitative and qualitative methods4+ years of experience in managing, mentoring, and nurturing research teamsAdvanced analytical capabilities, coupled with the skill to simplify intricate ideas, data, and perspectivesDemonstrated experience in designing and implementing research strategies that resonate with business goalsExperience converting research findings into tangible business resultsAdeptness in articulating research outcomes and their implications to a varied audience
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate-level degree or equivalent professional experienceFamiliarity with SaaS product development processesPrior exposure to the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industryHands-on experience executing primary research, from creation to presentation (both qualitative and quantitative)Understanding of data science methodologies and data engineering practices
