Description
MGM Alternative has an opening for an experienced television executive to spearhead creative development of new unscripted series. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience as a seller (producer/studio), producer, and/or buyer/commissioner (network) in both development and production along with a deep knowledge of the creative and business/legal process from idea to launch. Must have proven creative instincts ideating, developing, and selling UNSCRIPTED projects as well as strong interpersonal skills and relationships.
Oversee and own 1) development of original unscripted ideas, focusing on formats (game, competition, dating, food) for broadcast and streaming platforms 2) pitching and selling of unscripted projects 3) production of all development pilots, presentations, sizzles, including staffing of showrunners, directors, field producers and editors. Must have deep, proven relationships with buyers and a track record of sales that have made it on screen. Position is based in-person in Beverly Hills, with potential for travel to domestic and international locations for development shoots.
Manage relationships with talent and key partners.
Exercise excellent creative and business judgement, tracking entertainment trends, and developing breakthrough original formats.
Builds relationships with buyers, key stakeholders at MGM and Amazon Studios, talent, artist representatives and the greater creative community.
Understand the nuts and bolts of development, including ideation, creation of sales materials, production, and dealmaking.
Manage and supervise creation of development materials (decks, sizzles, presentations, edit notes).
Liaise with other departments including Marketing, Publicity, Research, Digital, Social and Business and Legal Affairs.

Basic Qualifications
7+ years of creative executive experience
5+ years of series development experience
10+ years of unscripted development and current programming in network/studio and production company roles experience
Experience working with other departments such as casting, production, research, PR, business and legal affairs
Experience overseeing all creative aspects of development production and post production
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of the US media landscape
• 5+ years as a Senior producer or Creative Executive in a proven production company or network
• 5+ years with previous Development, Production and/or Current Programming experience in the various genres of Unscripted Television (game, competition, dating, social experiment, talk, etc)
• Must be located in Los Angeles and able to work in person in Beverly Hills.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
