Job Summary The Unemployment Insurance (UI) Auditor conducts reviews and examinations of employers' and workers' records. They perform routine audits of employer records. These reviews and audits require analytical skills to apply Unemployment Insurance laws within specific guidelines. Staff apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards when reviewing employer records. The UI Auditor reviews and categorizes documentation provided by employers and their agents. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Conducting reviews, as assigned, to determine employer liability under Minnesota Unemployment Insurance Law. Examining employers' and workers' records to resolve employer liability and worker status issues so that benefit payments are accurately and promptly paid. Performing routine unemployment tax audits to verify the proper reporting of wages and ensure employer compliance. Communicating effectively with other employers, their representatives, and other UI Division staff. This posting may be used to fill multiple positions. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications To receive credit for your education and experience, your resume should clearly describe how you meet each minimum and/or preferred qualification listed, including dates of employment. Experience working with financial records, record keeping, or data entry. Effective communication skills to work with diverse clientele. Proficient analytical and critical thinking skills. Organizational skills with the ability to work independently. Experience with software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or other closely related field as determined by the agency.
