　　Job Description

　　The Advanced Computing Operations (ACO) group in the Computational Science Center (CSC) is looking for an intern to work with the Data Center Facility Operations team in maintaining and improving data center operations. The NREL High-Performance Computing Data Center (HPCDC) is home to several flagship systems including top 100 supercomputer Kestrel. Cooling technologies used in the data center include hot-aisle containment, hybrid liquid/air cooling, rear-door heat exchangers and direct-to-chip liquid cooling. In line with NREL’s mission, the HPCDC aims to be one of the most energy-efficient data centers in the world showcasing the benefits of different cooling and computing technologies.

　　The selected candidate can expect to learn about and work with various cooling technologies, facilities mechanical systems and power distribution, communications protocols (Modbus and SNMP), visualization of data center metrics, racking and stacking servers, and DCIM. Candidate will receive in-person mentoring with hands on training from various members of the Data Center Facility Operations team.

　　This is an ideal internship for someone who's interested in electrical and mechanical systems for a large facility. This team makes up the facilities portion of the computing team and supports the HPC facility infrastructure.

　　Basic Qualifications

　　Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree program, or graduated in the past 12 months from an accredited institution. Candidates who have earned a degree may work for a period not to exceed 12 months. Must have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.

　　Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)

　　Job Profile: Graduate II / Annual Salary Range: $42,700 - $68,300
