Implement commodity-specific business plans to ensure your suppliers exceed all corporate launch, quality, capacity, warranty metrics, and vehicle delivery
Lead cross-functional decisions with Ford & Supplier leadership to drive resolution of open issues.
Implement actions to ensure zero vehicle losses from suppliers
Principal for on-site troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situations
Lead adherence to Ford standards (i.e.Q1)
What you'll do...
Drive assessment & validation of manufacturing feasibility at identified supplier sites
Execute the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Quality Planning Process (APQP)
Use available data, metrics, and business plans to drive future sourcing decisions ensuring improved future quality
Implement commodity-specific business plans to ensure your suppliers exceed all corporate launch, quality, capacity, warranty metrics, and vehicle delivery
Lead on-site troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situations.
Candidate will apply his mechanical engineering education to conduct onsite evaluation visits for automotive commodities.
Drive flawless launch of automotive products by collaborating with Ford assembly plants and other cross-functional teams.
Candidate will drive robust failure mode avoidance at supplier locations through process failure mode avoidance, verification of critical characteristics, production control plan reviews, etc.
Candidate will drive supplier quality improvement requirements through key metrics such as Q1, quality rejects, Repairs R/1000, warranty reduction, benchmarking, lean engineering, etc.
Candidate will also be required to apply his engineering skills and experience to drive problem resolution in case of production and field failures of components.
Candidate will lead onsite troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situations including equipment debugging, equipment transfer and reinstall, evaluating process parameters for running production and optimizing as needed, supporting rework activities, time studies and workstation optimization strategies, etc.

You'll have...
Bachelor of Science/ Engineering
4+ years’ experience in one or more, but not limited to the following manufacturing process:
Castings Molding, Stamping, Machining, Automated/Manual Assembly Processes of complex assemblies like brakes, axel, suspension, etc., Controls Automation programming, Paint, Chroming, exposure to PET and other carpet parts, blow molding, etc.
Ability to develop and present materials to leadership on short notice.
Ability to lead resolution of manufacturing, quality, and/or capacity issues on-site with suppliers.
Ability to travel in the US, Canada, and Mexico approximately 75% of the time.
