The Mizuho US Operations (MUSO) Treasury Office is seeking a Treasury Transformation project manager to lead a significant project portfolio.
The Americas Treasury Department (ATD) is responsible for ensuring the financing of the banking entities across the Region conducted primarily through the NY Branch and Mizuho Bank (USA). ATD fulfills its role of pursuing stability and efficiency of ALM, ensuring stable funding, diversifying secured and unsecured funding sources, establishing and managing appropriate Funds Transfer Pricing framework.
The NY Branch is a New York state-chartered branch which primarily engages in wholesale commercial banking services, including lending and credit extension, trade finance services, market and foreign exchange transactions, deposit services, cash management and settlement services and a limited number of derivative products.
Mizuho Bank (USA) is an FDIC-insured New York state-chartered wholesale commercial banking institution. BKUSA primarily engages in lending and corporate finance activities, deposit-receiving activities, leasing business, custody and trust business as well as other financial services with a broad range of corporate customers located in the United States.
Mizuho's US Operations(MUSO) is taking the next step forward to transition from BHC to IHC an integral part in executing Mizuho's Strategic road map and has been working on establishing practices in compliance with the IHC requirements of the FRB's Regulation YY.
MUSO Treasury Office has been established in January 2023 to combine the Banking and Capital Markets Treasury group and enhance the overall ALM function and promote alignment, operating efficiencies and governance across MUSO. ATD and the Treasury Office shall play a key role in ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
Responsibilities
The candidate will become a core member of the Treasury team and will lead transformation initiatives, as well as update policies, procedures, and other tools to enhance sound financial management. The candidate should be comfortable with interacting with senior management across various legal entities, business lines, and functions.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of leading large cross-functional initiatives through end-to-end operational and technological global implementations. Extensive background in banking, operations, regulatory engagement, technology deployment, and transformation planning and execution, incorporating leading-edge technology to provide bottom line impacts across organizations.
This front office role is tasked with spearheading projects for Treasury. The role will entail working with both Banking and Capital Markets Treasury teams along with the project management office, understanding the project, working with both first and second lines of defense to gather requirements, draft BRD's work with IT to get the requirements built, and participate in testing of the build.
Facilitate various projects in relation to treasury business in ATD and MUSO such as expanding business, establishing IHC, enhancing ALM and government framework of MUSO Treasury Office.
Job Description:
We are seeking a well-rounded finance change analyst who can be deployed into various Treasury initiatives/programs - be it tactical or strategic, covering systems and processes that affect reporting from both a Financial, Regulatory and Management Reporting perspective.
The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of the various financial markets that MUSO is involved in, such as Money Market, Fixed Income and the financing business as well as financial regulations. The candidate should also have excellent experience and capability in project management and policy writing.
Skillsets Needed:
We are seeking a change agent with strong troubleshooting skillset / solution oriented mindset and experience implementing best practice solutions.
Must have ability to deliver a project portfolio focused on regulatory implementation, remediation, and enhanced controls.
Experience developing Target Operating model framework.
Strong interpersonal / collaborative skills.
Must have general understanding / exposure to investment banking products (i.e. Bonds, Equities, Derivatives).
Ideally have prior exposure to Regulatory Reporting (i.e. FR2052a ) .
Ideally have prior exposure to Project Management / business analysis protocols.
Axiom system experience a plus.
Murex system experience a plus.
Strong excel skills is a plus.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification a plus.
The expected base salary ranges from $96,250 - $191,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
