THE OPPORTUNITY:
The TEM Specialist is responsible for the analysis of semiconductor devices using the transmission electron microscope (TEM) in a variety of operating modes. In this role, you will interpret client requests, prepare TEM samples, and produce high-quality images and materials analysis. Your responsibilities will also include TEM data processing and the composition of clear, accurate reports. This position is considered intermediate, based on a combination of education and practical experience.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Under supervision, assist in the estimation of the required effort for TEM analysis
Select the appropriate equipment and methods to conduct the analysis
Generate samples for TEM analysis
Capture TEM/STEM images and material analysis data
Process images and materials analysis data into clear results for use in reports
Work with process analysts and other TEM team members to provide full depth analysis
Support internal Process Analysis, Circuit Analysis and Business Development needs
Interpret image and materials analysis results for the project scope
Annotate images and graphs as necessary
Incorporate TEM analysis results into project reports
Liaise with external stakeholders
Other duties as required
WHO YOU ARE
Master’s degree in Material Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
1- 3 years of experience with TEM imaging, EDS and EELS material analysis techniques
Hands on experience in a lab environment and with the associated tools
experience with lab processes such as: mechanical polishing, ion beam milling
experience with imaging tools such as: TEM, X-ray, optical microscopes
experience with sample preparation: cross-section and planar
Experience writing clear technical reports
Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Semiconductor experience would be considered a strong asset, but is not a requirement
