We are currently seeking a Transition Manager-Data Center Services to join our team in DC, District of Columbia (US-DC), United States (US).
Background:
We are seeking an experienced Transition Manager specializing in Data Center Computing Services to join our team. This role will focus on leading technology transitions for large federal clients in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and proximate Virginia. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data center computing technologies, extensive experience working with federal clients, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex technology transitions with dedicated private cloud technologies, modern server, and storage solutions.
Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee technology transition projects for federal clients, with a specific focus on Data Center Computing Services, including dedicated private cloud, modern server, and storage technologies. Collaborate closely with federal client stakeholders to understand their technical requirements, business objectives, and compliance needs. Develop comprehensive transition plans, outlining project scope, timelines, resource allocation, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, networking, security, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of transitions. Conduct thorough assessments of existing data center environments to identify areas for optimization, scalability improvements, and cost savings. Define and document transition processes, standard operating procedures, and best practices for data center migrations and technology deployments. Provide technical expertise to ensure that transitions align with industry best practices, security standards, and federal regulations. Manage effective communication between internal teams and federal clients, providing regular project updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring transparency. Monitor project progress, identify deviations from the plan, and implement corrective actions to maintain project objectives. Facilitate knowledge transfer to support teams and end users to ensure a smooth post-transition operational phase. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and federal guidelines to continuously enhance transition strategies.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 8 years of experience in technology transition management, specifically focused on Data Center Computing Services. 8 years of experience supporting federal agencies demonstrating a strong understanding of their operational requirements and compliance mandates. 3 years of experience assisting in the implementation of government private cloud technologies, modern server architectures, storage solutions, and virtualization technologies. 3 years of experience using federal IT security standards and compliance regulations (NIST, FISMA, etc.). Must hold current certifications such as PMP, ITIL, VMware, Cisco, or ServiceNow. Must live a commutable distance to the client site in NoVa. Must be a US citizen.
