Summary This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. The incumbent will provide a full range of training and development services to NPRC management and employees. The incumbent will also provide training and development services to NPRC business partners and support NARA-wide training initiatives. Responsibilities As a Training Specialist, you will: Plan and develop training needs assessment instruments, administer the instruments, and analyze the results in order to assist in the formulation of Individual and Group Development. Design, develop, and deliver selected training course modules within his or her areas of expertise. Identify the contents of group and individual development plans, recommend appropriate courses of study including self- paced learning, computer tutorials, books, videos, etc. Supervise as many as two GS-11, Training Instructors. Schedule and coordinate work, direct use of personnel, and is accountable for the effectiveness and accomplishments of all operations to obtain maximum utilization of personnel and equipment, including the development of reports to be used in the measurement and control of output. Manage a learning center that includes a training facility, computer equipment, and other training technology. The work is largely sedentary, however, the incumbent may have to stoop, bend, or crawl around the computer learning laboratory to fix loose connections, hook up machines, etc. When instructing courses, the incumbent may be required to stand for long periods of time. Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience designing, developing, and delivering training course modules; AND Leading a team in both technical and non-technical duties; AND Evaluating training results and providing recommendations.
