RS&H is currently seeking a Traffic Engineering Associate to join ourTransportation Practice in our Denver, CO office!
Job Summary: This position performs basic engineering assignments requiringthe application of standard engineering principles and concepts. This positionhelps perform design tasks and coordinates design and constructionactivities, studies, and various analyses.
Essential Functions:
Provides general support to the Traffic Engineering Team by conducting variousstudies and developing solutions for addressing safety, traffic congestionand multimodal transportation needs.Performs basic traffic engineering tasks, including safety/crashanalysis, traffic operations analysis and capacity analysis.Prepares documentation and technical reports for traffic engineering studies.Performs as-needed field reviews and observation for evaluating fieldconditions and assessing typical traffic operations and safety conditions.Becomes knowledgeable of applicable federal, state, and local standards,guidelines and practices that are pertinent to respective discipline.Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited program or equivalent combination ofeducation and experienceMust possess basic knowledge of production softwareMust possess solid oral and written communications skillsMust have the ability to effectively interact with and build relationshipswith othersPreferred Qualifications:
EIT CertificationTraffic design experience including signal design, pavement markings,signage, MOTTraffic Simulation/Modeling experience including Synchro, VISSIM,Rodel, HCS, or other traffic modeling softwareCAD experience including Microstation, and/or AutoCADFamiliarity with local, state, and national traffic engineering standardsand practicesPrior experience with CDOT and/or local Colorado agencies is preferredTypical salary range for this position in Colorado is $70,000 to$95,000 and commensurate with experience relative to the position
