Description
Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
Key job responsibilities
Setting up drills, endmills and turning tools for use in CNC machines
Inspect tool assemblies to ensure they meet design tolerances
Receive incoming tools into inventory system
Tracks tool and consumable inventory
Kits tool assemblies per work instructions
-Capable of lifting/moving 30-50 lbs
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.
A day in the life
The Tool Crib Technician will maintain, inventory and assemble CNC machine tools to support machining operations. The desired candidate will have experience in a fast paced machining environment and will have the ability to respond quickly to interruptions and requests to support machine shop personnel.
About the team
The Kuiper machine shop provides development fabrication capabilities as well as future production machining. These operations occur in our Redmond facilities.
We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast paced, start-up like environment. To be successful you need to be highly motivated and detail oriented while showing the highest standards of execution.

Basic Qualifications
1+ years of tool crib experience
1+ years of machine shop experience
Preferred Qualifications
Understand application and nomenclature of machining tools
Inventory control software experience
Tool pre-setter and balancing experience (Zoller, Haimer etc.)
Experience using hand measuring tools (calipers, mics, height gages)
Familiarity with AS9100 Quality Management System
Forklift operation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $87,360/year in our lowest geographic market up to $93,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
