About the Team
E-commerce's Governance and Experience (GNE) is a global team striving to achieve full satisfaction from customers, promoting a sustainable and risk-free sales environment, and providing the perfect purchase experience. Service and Moderation Team (SMT) is part of the GNE organization. Our mission is to deliver trustworthy and excellent service experiences for every user of TikTok Shop. SMT is actively seeking a dynamic and visionary Compliance Management Lead to pioneer and establish the compliance function within SMT for both in-house and outsourced vendor. As the inaugural member of the compliance team, you will play a pivotal role in building a high-performing team and developing a robust compliance framework from the ground up. The successful candidate will bring strategic leadership, hands-on experience, and a proactive approach to shaping and implementing compliance strategies aligned with the company's regulations and organizational goals.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning and Framework Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance strategy and framework tailored to the organization's needs, building the structure from scratch;
2. Team Building: Recruit, hire, and lead a team of compliance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement;
3. Policy and Procedure Development: Create, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with company/department requirements and industry best practices;
4. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate compliance risks, including process abuse, bribery, and misconduct for both in house and external vendor staff;
5. Training and Awareness Programs: Design and deliver comprehensive compliance training programs to instill awareness and understanding for in-house and outsourced vendor;
6. Audit and Monitoring: Regularly audit e-commerce processes, platforms, and data handling procedures. Implement monitoring systems to track adherence to established compliance standards;
7. Investigation Protocols: Develop investigation protocols, ensuring the ability to conduct thorough reviews of compliance incidents and implement corrective actions;
8. Partner with vendor management team to ensure compliance with data protection by outsourced vendors;
9. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, HR, IT, and operations to integrate compliance initiatives seamlessly into business processes.
Qualifications
1. BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience, advanced degree preferred;
2. Proven experience in e-commerce compliance or a similar role;
3. Knowledge of e-commerce regulations, data protection laws, and industry best practices;
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders;
5. Strong leadership, self-motivated and able to thrive in ambiguity and in a matrix environment;
6. Ability to function independently and within a team environment with demonstrated tracking records in motivating and coaching staff to maximize their individual potentials;
7. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
8. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and strong work ethics;
9. Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and technologies;
10. Able to travel internationally (30-40%).
