About The Estee Lauder Companies | Senior Accountant RTR

  An opportunity has arisen for a Senior RTR Accountant to join the Estee Lauder Companies Finance Team. This role works across all the brands in our portfolio and ensures the smooth operation of the financial accounting and reporting process. This role partners with several areas of the UK and Ireland business as well as our 3rd party service centre and global colleagues, supporting both with daily operations and helping the regional leads with global transformation objectives.

  This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a continuous improvement mindset looking to continue developing their career in Finance.

  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate the timely completion of the monthly financial close including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, financial statement and analysis, to give a true and fair view of the Regional performance.

  • Review of Balance Sheet reconciliations of general ledger accounts, signing off explanation of key variances.

  • Support the continuous development and documentation of process and methodology for handling new financial reporting requirements, analysis, internal controls and audit requirements to ensure adherence to accounting policy.

  • Be proactive and lead team members in the identification of projects to drive continuous improvement, efficiency and effectiveness of processes that can benefit the wider Finance team by delivering year on year improvement.

  • Play a key role in supporting the wider business and driving targeted improvement to meet global close optimisation goals, lower-level coding accuracy and financial control.

  • Financial involvement in projects and initiatives, leading and contributing to projects both within and outside of the RTR team.

  • Work closely with the Reporting and Systems functions to implement new approaches into their duties.

  • Management, development and coaching of the RTR Team and wider Finance Team.

  • Management, coaching and key liaison with our third-party service provider.

  • Be an ambassador for Technical Fitness

  • In conjunction with the Financial Systems Team, support the RTR team in embracing systems to streamline current processes and standardise procedures.

  KEY DELIVERABLES:

  • Responsible for the UK Regions adherence to accounting policies and procedures. Managing the adjustment to processes accordingly in the event of an update to these.

  • Responsible for the timely completion of the monthly financial close, balance sheet reconciliations, financial statement completion and analysis, to gain a true and fair view of the brand performance.

  • Coordination of audit requirements in a timely manner, driving a culture of financial control including an ongoing review of audit requirements on a regular basis.

  • Proactively drive streamlining, automating, and standardising of processes and controls to ensure accuracy and efficiency within the ELC RTR team and across our third party RTR service provider, wider finance, brand and company departments that can benefit from process and financial control improvements. Consider automation, relocation, elimination opportunity.

  Qualifications

  KEY SKILLS:

  • Qualified Accountant with multiple years PQE

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proactive and innovative approach driving continuous improvement

  • Good level of technical system and Excel skills

  • Able to manage tight deadline and prioritise team workload

  • Able to explain financial information to non-financial people

  • Ability to develop and lead by example to contribute proactively to the development of team members.

  • Occasional travel to London may be required
