Test Equipment Support Technician will perform a variety of tasks ranging from electrical and electro-mechanical Test equipment fabrication, troubleshooting/ repairing, preventive maintenance, calibration, and be able to set up test stations efficiently per engineering instruction. The Technician will be knowledgeable in all types of electronic test equipment, and (Using schematics and prints), have the ability to identify failure root cause of these types of equipment down to the component level. The Technician will be responsible for selection and ordering of replacement components required for equipment repairs, preparation of reports, and development of various procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
Works under minimal or no supervision.Leads lower-level staff in Test Equipment support functions.Knowledgeable in all types of electronic test equipment.Ability to read schematics and prints, mechanical drawings, and facility prints.Ability to identify root cause of equipment failure down to the component level.Repair, maintain, and overhaul of Electro-mechanical and electrical systems.Fabricate Electronic and Electro-mechanical Test equipment, and their components using basic shop equipment.Develop and maintain equipment procedures and schedules for calibration and preventative maintenance.Work with other disciplines to develop Total Productive Maintenance procedures and schedules.Strong administrative skills required, utilizing many MS Office tools for data analysis, creation of procedures, Project planning, etc...
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Certification may be required for technical support rolesU.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contractPreferred Qualifications:
Experience with the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Electronic and Electro-Mechanical Test equipment is required.Experience in Fabrication of custom Electronic Test equipment.Mechanical aptitude is preferred.Familiarity with Industrial PLC programming, logic controls, and/or electro-mechanical system controllers is desired.Experience with Microsoft Office tools is essential.Familiarity with LabView and/or Visual Basic is desirable.Good communication skills, capability to interact with other disciplines in a courteous and efficient manner.Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry.
