  This role will support the Low Voltage design for a variety of projects located all over the globe. You will work closely with clients, client reps, architects, and MEP engineers for all types of spaces including Critical Facilities, Corporate Interiors, Sports & Entertainment, Healthcare Facilities, Airports and Transportation.

  As a Telecommunications, Audio-Visual and Security System(s) Engineer, we’ll look to you for the following skills and capabilities:

  Client facing professional capable of presenting a design to a client and receiving review comments.

  Conduct design review sessions, oversee QA/QC process for your work and the work of others, field reviews and site surveys before and during construction to verify accuracy of completed design.

  Build familiarity with the client’s Basis of Design standards, scope, budget, and schedule for assigned tasks.

  Work closely with the Project Managers, Planners and Cost Consultants to provide detailed input to specific project programs.

  Collaborate design criteria with engineering team members to gather information required to design Telecommunications, Audio-Visual, and Security system(s).

  Coordinate with electrical team members for Telecommunications, Audio-Visual, and Security system(s) power requirements.

  Plan and design backbone distribution, cable pathways, and telecom space drawings and schematics for commercial and industrial buildings.

  Interpret architectural drawings/specifications, models, and construction documents.

  Apply applicable codes and standards, including manufacturer instructions.

  Utilize drawing markup software, such as Bluebeam, to markup drawings.

  Be well versed in virtual collaboration systems such as Teams, Webex, GoToMeeting, Zoom, etc.

  Lead and provide guidance to designers and BIM modelers or other subordinates.

  Coordinate work activities with a large matrixed design/engineering team, including other local/remote staff members and the discipline lead.

  Understand and apply both company-specific and client safety standards in design and everyday activities.

  Actively cooperate with members of your project task force, client personnel and members of your department, as appropriate.

  Establish a professional and, if possible, a personal relationship with key client personnel with whom you interact.

  Recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly; escalate issues as appropriate.

  Understand client expectations, as determined by the team, and constantly strive to achieve better results.

  Meet commitments that you make to the client, individually or as a team, to complete work by certain dates or within agreed effort hour or cost budgets.

  Look for ways to reduce project cost and schedule, and for ways to improve our work processes.

  Proficient in Bluebeam.

  Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Teams, OneNote, and Access.

  Proficient in the use of CAD and 3D design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation and BIM).

  Proficient with development of Division 27/28 specifications.

  Able to develop a Level of Effort design cost estimate, and detailed engineering schedule.

  Develop design criteria, basis of design and scope of work.

  Knowledge and application of ANSI/TIA, and BICSI standards.

  Able to travel on-site and conduct site surveys.

  A Global Mindset and demonstrated ability to work across cultures and remotely with our Global Integrated Delivery (GID) approach.

  Able to lead small to medium size team.

  Mentor subordinates.

  The base salary range for this position is $100,700 to $157,300. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

  Here’s what you’ll need :

  Knowledge of telecom infrastructure:

  Structured cabling solutions for Voice and Data infrastructure systems (fiber and copper).

  Comm room design including cabinet arrangement and population.

  Design of Voice system infrastructure to support VoIP, POTS, PBX/PABX systems.

  Design of Networking system infrastructure (including knowledge of basic data network topologies, user connectivity and maintenance requirements).

  Audio Visual (conference rooms, public spaces, display systems) design.

  Intercom, Paging and Public Address (including Emergency PA and Mass Notification) design.

  Design knowledge of ESS systems; Access Control, CCTV.

  Power supply/distribution systems including PDU and UPS.

  Develop installation details and room layouts.

  Produce installation specifications with engineering review and approval.

  Radio system installations (PMR and DMR).

  Mobile Telephony, Public Cellular DAS and Emergency Responder Radio Communication Systems requirements.

  Ideally, You'll Also Have:

  8 years of relevant experience in telecommunication design.

  Bachelor’s degree (2-year technical degree or 4-year non-technical degree)

  License such as P.E. or an ICT certification (PSP, CPP, CTS, CTS-D, RTPM, RCDD, CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, PMP, etc.), is a plus.

  Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design software platforms Ability to adapt and apply company engineering design and BIM & CAD drafting standards and industry best practices.

  Familiarity with project delivery methods that are typical for Architectural/Engineering lead designs.

  Able to route and size raceways, perform fill calculations.

  Able to develop splicing, backbone, and cable schedules.

  Able to create accurate installation documents from information found on vendor equipment drawings and submittals.

  Knowledge and understanding of work / information flow between disciplines.

  Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of deliverables.

  Able to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.

  Develop staffing plans based on deliverables to be produced and the project schedule.
