The Flow Cytometry Technician performs pre-analytical tasks pursuant to established and approved protocols requiring the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility.
The work schedule for this position will be Tuesday-Saturday 9:00AM-5:30PM
Responsibilities:
Duties include maintenance of equipment and records.
Performance of quality assurance activities related to test performance performed under direct supervision.
Runs daily standard checks for instrument alignment and reagent QC on the flow cytometers.
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or an Associate’s degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician
ASCP or AMT certification is required
Tennessee state Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) license is preferred
Previous experience as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is highly preferred
Flow Cytometry experience is a plus
Proficient with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems
High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
