The Technical Support Engineer role supports the product life cycle management (PLM) tool (ProductCenter), global chemical substance compliance, and configuration management for the Collins Aerospace fuel nozzle sites (West Des Moines and Carroll). This role coordinates cross functionally with local and central points of contact to ensure Collins policy and regulatory compliance.This position is Onsite, with Hybrid options as a future possibilityEligible for relocationPrimary Responsibilities:
Support as the primary application owner and point of contact for the PLM tool (40% of time)Escalate PCTR production issues to ensure rapid response and issue resolutionPrioritize, coordinate, and facilitate tool improvements and enhancementsFacilitate communication with digital technology personnel and other support functions for application maintenanceAssist in development and approval of business requirements for tool implementationIdentify changes to tool suite to align with business processesParticipate in user acceptance testing including set-up of test cases and test dataWork closely with internal / external teams to build robust performance monitoring using tools and processes availableProvide project status updates within stakeholder communityParticipate in project activities as identifiedProvide user training and assistance for application useRelentless drive for continuous improvement in infrastructure and tool performance by measuring and reporting to stakeholdersWork with database services team to build database hosting strategy and advocate for PLM tool specific needs and use casesSite contact for global chemical substance compliance (25% of time)Coordinate with site leads for resolution of global chemical substance organization requests and policy deployment action itemsStrategy for site compliance of internal policy and external regulation for chemical management requirementsCoordinate site communication of policy and regulation changesCoordinate specification chemical, part, and assembly decompositionsServe as a secondary configuration management associate (35% of time)Support the primary configuration management associateResponsible for engineering data management and complianceDefine and control engineering processes and maintain accurate product lifecycle informationCollaborate with various engineering and production teams to manage and maintain customer dataCompliance to military and industry standards, AS9100, EIA649 and various customer requirementsEngineering data management, control transactions, and oversight of transactions involving the library of engineering documentsFormal release engineering specification, drawings, and other technical documentsVarious administrative tasks and projects using Microsoft Office tools as well as specific company toolsQualifications/Experience Needed:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
