  Amazon Protective Service Special Programs, Evaluations, Assessments, & Response (SPEAR) Team is hiring a Technical Program Manager who is motivated to rapidly mitigate technical security and surveillance risks and continuously improve and optimize existing processes. The Technical Security and Surveillance Countermeasures Specialist will work with security leaders and cross functional teams to methodically ensure technical security risks to Amazon facilities are identified, remediated, mitigated, and/or neutralized. A thorough understanding of Information Security and a proficiency in prioritization techniques to manage competing workloads is essential. A successful candidate also embodies our 16 leadership principles; especially strong in Bias for Action, Earns Trust, and Ownership.The role will participate in communications, in-depth technical surveys, generate and manage security findings, interact with owners in order to mitigate/remediate technical security risks that impact Amazon data, operations, and/or reputation.The role will identify technical security vulnerabilities, leverages and improves the technical security and surveillance countermeasures program to detect anomalies that require mitigation and remediation efforts. This role will be part of growing team of security engineers, subject matter experts, and technical experts on the Amazon SPEAR Wireless Security Team.The successful candidate should have a record of accomplishment within the wireless, physical and technical security domains, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to analyze data from disparate sources, and demonstrate sound judgment while under pressure. They need to be successful at multi-tasking, be self-motivated, and use discretion when dealing with sensitive findings or information. They should also be able to rapidly learn new technologies, consider multiple solutions to problems, and show high levels of judgement when determining risk and impact of security events.An ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of technical, physical, and wireless security problems/risks as context for decision making when taking ownership to solve problems.Key job responsibilitiesPerform technical surveillance countermeasures and security assessments to identify security issues and risks, and develop remediation plans.* Independently works and supports technical security evaluation campaign findings, researches/recommends mitigations, and analyzes potential security vulnerabilities from a variety of sources to identify patterns and trends.* Produce evaluations reports, briefs, and white papers for senior leadership, internal departments, and stakeholders regarding vulnerabilities, security concerns, and operations gaps as they affect Amazon data, operations, and/or reputation.* Consults closely with the other Amazon security and service teams on issues related to AWS security posture.* Interface with technical teams, stakeholders and leadership teams to translate security risk mitigation plans into actionable items to mitigate risk.About the teamThis position is within the SPEAR (Special Programs, Evaluations, Assessments, and Response) organization, operating on the Wireless Security (WiSec) team. The SPEAR WiSec team is a diverse group of security builders, inventors, and pioneers in the small, yet close, wireless security community.
