Your Career
As a Technical Sales Manager (Systems Engineer) for SD-WAN, you will work with your sales partner to establish strong relationships with the target MSP, assisting them with their customer conversations around the detection and prevention of advanced cyber attacks and breaches, and advising on which products to deploy from the Palo Alto Networks platform. Our TSM’s bring a deep technical understanding of cybersecurity products, integrations and critical cyber threats facing our customers’ environments. You will build trust with the MSP and work actively to alleviate their concerns and address pain points while providing valuable feedback and input to our product management teams on new feature requests and product improvements for the MSP.
Your Impact
Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to the MSP and their prospective customers, working with your Account team and the local teams within your territory
Architect and propose validated solutions which address the identified SD-WAN and security problems in each individual environment
Identify and document specific problems with the MSP’s prospective and current customers which can be solved through the deployment of integrated solutions
Ensure ongoing customer happiness, support and adoption
Understand and effectively differentiate our platform against top competitors in the MSP portfolio
Act as the MSP advocate for any issues that require technical assistance and follow-up with the MSP through resolution
Support MSP on customer bids from a technical and design perspective
Work closely with account SEs and cross-MSP SEs to develop best practices
Pursue continuous self-development and learning to maintain technical leadership of applicable technologies (data center, SDN, public cloud, security, networking, etc.)
Your Experience
7+ years of work experience with preferred technical pre-sales experience within the cybersecurity and/or networking fields, or comparative experience
5+ years experience working in or for a Tier 1 MSP in SD-WAN/SASE technologies
Advanced experience with SD-WAN architectures and providers
Additional technical capabilities to include a mix of the following
WAN technologies - MPLS, MetroE, Leased Lines, Broadband
Tunneling protocols - SSL/TLS, IPSec, GRE, DMVPN
IP Routing - BGP, OSPF, Static, Network Address Translation
Virtualization technologies - ESX, KVM, Xen, Microsoft preferred
Network security capabilities - IPS/IDS, Zone-Based Firewalls
Security technologies - CASB, FWaaS (https://www.paloaltonetworks.co.uk/cyberpedia/what-is-firewall-as-a-service) and Zero Trust (https://www.paloaltonetworks.co.uk/cyberpedia/what-is-a-zero-trust-for-the-cloud)
Agility to work within small creative teams as well as cross-functional teams
Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, both internally and externally, with an ambitious attitude
Ability to travel up to 50%
