Objective
Product Specialist requires technical knowledge of our software and the industries served, Tekla Structures. They should be comfortable addressing most technical problems. This person will be responsible for answering cases and assisting on colleagues' cases. They will also create online support materials (articles and/or videos).
Optimal Candidate
The optimal candidate for this position would have 3+ years experience with implementing Tekla Structures for concrete and rebar. Precast (including tilt-up panels) or rebar experience is preferred, but cast-in-place (aka CIP or in-situ), formwork, bridge design, masonry, et cetera candidates would be highly considered as well. They would also have a base knowledge of using Trimble Connect and its interoperability with Tekla Structures.
The desire to increase knowledge in Tekla Structures, Trimble Connect, and PowerFab for other construction disciplines is essential. The role would eventually assist in supporting all Trimble's Detailing & Fabrication software.

These may be, but not limited to:Reviewing past cases through advanced searches within the CRM system (ex. SalesForce, Microsoft Dynamics, Zen Desk)Tekla User AssistanceTraining documentationCo-workersInternal Local Resource TeamsEscalating cases (see Escalation below)Escalation
A Product Specialist should identify cases outside their knowledge base and work with higher level colleagues (Senior Product Specialist, Product Lead, Senior Product Lead, or Global Help Desk) to help answer questions for clients, or other colleagues.
To improve the knowledge of all levels of support, the Product Lead will remain the case owner after escalating. The Product Specialist should handle the case processing including:Remain copied on all emails and be available to listen in to phone conversationsPerforming follow-ups with customers as neededProviding instructional steps to the customer provided by higher level SpecialistsDocumenting case in-progress activities (calls, meetings, etc.)Documenting Case ResolutionsAncillary ResponsibilitiesCreate online support materialsReview colleagues' online support materials for publishingCreate, monitor, and maintain development issues in Jira regarding software issues (bugs) and feature requests.Increase personal and peer knowledge base by:Participating in internal trainingsCo-working/assisting with escalated issuesRequired SkillsStrong industry knowledge of concrete systems including reinforcement.Tekla StructuresBasic knowledge of:Creation and modification of parametric custom components and macros (API Extension knowledge is a huge plus)Pour units, objects, and breaksTemplate EditorIntermediate to advanced knowledge of:Cast UnitsDrawings: General Arrangement and Fabrication (cast-unit and rebar assembly)Organizer and its customizationReinforcement (bar sets and bar groups)-
