  Job Description Visa's Acceptance Solution division is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Technical Product Manager (TPM) who will act as a payment’s domain expert. The candidate should have a strong technical background (experience working in Payment Gateway / Card Payments / Financial Services space will be a plus), should be a thought leader, have exceptional organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills and be an analytical and structured thinker. This individual must be able to think broadly about Visa's business and drive the expansion of the Visa Acceptance Solution platform.

  The right candidate should possess a strong Technical Product Management background, with demonstrated expertise in contributing to medium to large cross-functional projects. We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated excellence as Technical Product Manager in the payments, internet, or related industries. The successful candidate must be a hands-on person with proven ability to engage in high bandwidth conversations with both business and technology executives.  

  To be successful in this position, this individual must be highly effective working both independently and in cross-functional capacities to identify, define, analyze, prioritize, and refine technology requirements across all categories. Successful candidates will be skilled at forging strong partnerships with business sponsors, product owners, architects, and developers to define feature sets, story maps, detailed user stories (functional and non-functional) to support the development process. This function will address bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints to maximize business benefit.

  Beyond the design and planning stages of the development lifecycle, strong Agile expertise is required to collaborate with Scrum teams and communicate requirements to development teams for execution and implementation.

  This role will also partner with the cross-functional leadership team to help define the roadmap priorities and ensure that it remains aligned with the broader strategy and priorities. This individual will foster innovation, collaboration, leverage new technologies and champion impactful change to build Visa's technology brand through internal and external initiatives.

  Essential Functions

  Be hands-on with describing business rules as technical artifacts for analysts, business product managers, and any functional team that depends on this information.

  Be skilled at forging strong partnerships with business sponsors, product owners, architects, and developers to define feature sets, story maps, detailed user stories (functional and non-functional) to support the development process.

  Discuss technical implementation details with architects, and other technical teams.

  Partner with card acquirers, banks, and other strategic partners to enable payment processing which facilitates our global footprint expansion.

  Collaborate with engineering teams to build robust, reliable, and scalable payment processing platforms.

  Synthesize requirements into a common set of platform and services capabilities.

  Candidates will be responsible for value proposition definition, communications across technical, business and product functions, cost/benefit analysis, and executive presentations.

  Define product requirements which involve writing clear, thorough, and detailed user stories for complex features and product sets.

  Partner with business operations and analytics team to build right monitoring capabilities and metrics which helps monitor the health of the platform and facilitates data driven decision making.

  Be the primary liaison between business units, business product managers, engineering, and other applicable groups to ensure flawless integration of new and existing feature sets.

  Participate in daily scrum meetings for the teams executing on projects being driven.

  Work very closely with development and QA organization as a Product Owner to ensure technical specifications and final product meet business requirements.

  Highly execution focused by working in conjunction with various counterparts across functions.

  Ensure product vision and requirements are designed with long-term vision in mind and can be launched globally with minimal tweaks.

  Work closely with senior leadership providing status, action plan and recommendations

  Perform Go-To-Market activities by working closely with program management, BU product managers, other product teams, finance, operations, legal, compliance, user experience and external partners as required.

  Be comfortable looking at system logs when needed and identifying bugs when they might appear during course of analysis.

  This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

  Qualifications Basic Qualifications:

  – 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work

  experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with

  a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  – 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant

  experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant

  experience with a PhD

  – 8-12 years of industry experience within a technology environment, with a track record of

  successfully delivering complex software systems or services.

  – Technical experience in Java technologies, API (SOAP & Rest) & Web Development

  – It will be an added advantage if the candidate has experience working in Payment Gateway / Card

  Payments / Financial Services space (in one or more of the following areas– Core Payments,

  Alternative Payments, Merchant & Partner portals, Reporting and Reconciliation, Risk & Fraud

  management, Payment Security, Tokenization etc.).

  – Hands on experience in developing roadmaps, writing user stories, grooming product backlogs, and

  coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.

  – Proficiency working in an agile environment.

  – Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills with the ability to work in a global environment and

  drive consensus in cross-functional teams.

  – Demonstrated interpersonal skills to interface well with clients and partners at all levels.

  – Outstanding communications ability to a diverse customer audience, executives, product, and

  technology stakeholders

  – Strong relationship management skills

  – Solid business acumen

  – Experience demonstrating strong leadership, self-motivation and accountability.

  – Fast learner on both technical and business side

  – Strong customer centric mindset.

  – Comfortable operating in a matrix setup

  – Proactive, demonstrate sense of urgency and 'can do' attitude.

  – Strategic thinker who can balance big picture strategy with detailed, flawless execution.

  – Detail and results oriented, able to analyze data to justify product decisions and apply key

  learnings.

  – Strong internal & external stakeholder management skills.

  – Ability to stay organized while managing competing priorities.

  – Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  Additional Information Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

  Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

  Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

  U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 119,100.00 to 154,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
