We are currently looking for a Technical Manager/Technical Bid Manager (m/f/d) Electric for our Passenger Coaches Department in Vienna and/or Graz . You will be managing an Engineering Project Team carrying out the electrical development-process for Passenger Coaches. The trains are manufactured in Vienna and other Siemens locations, and they transport people across Europe in day and night trains such as the Railjet for Austrian and Czech railway operators. Additionally you will accompany the quotation process from the customer tender to receipt of the order.
In this role, you can actively design the future of sustainable high-speed cross-border train service in Europe. We transform the everyday!
Tasks
You analyze customer tenders and reflect them on our platform products.
You develop electric vehicle concepts including car control and create corresponding close-by-comments and offer documents.
You conduct technical customer negotiations.
You create effort estimates and coordinate the bid team.
You manage the developments in one of our projects in order to achieve the customer requirements for the entire electrical system. You are responsible for the setup of the engineering project organization together with the engineering department heads.
You will be responsible for a cost-optimized vehicle design based on our vehicle platforms.
You lead the Engineering-Sub-Project in order to deliver the development results within quality, time schedule and budget.
You are managing the project team following the project execution guidelines.
You ensure the achievement of the high-level Siemens standard of engineering quality and in case of changes you manage the engineering change management process.
You plan and execute the engineering type tests together with the project team.
On a regular basis you are reporting to the project head and to the engineering organization (department heads, engineering head).
Skills
You have successfully completed a technical degree in e.g. electrical or railway engineering.
You have several years (> 3 years) experience in leading engineering teams in project management.
Ideally, you have several years of professional experience in the field of railway/vehicle technology, especially in technical projects or management tasks, or based on a suitable background, you are motivated to build up experience in the railway industry.
Experience in control systems and/or IT-systems will be beneficial.
You are fluent in English and are willing to learn German.
You are confident in dealing with international business partners, colleagues and employees and are willing to travel (<25%).
Your leadership style is based on empowerment & growth mindset.
What else do I need to know?
We offer an attractive remuneration package in line with your qualifications and professional experience. The legally required minimum gross annual salary according to the collective agreement for this position is at least EUR 54.900 based on 38.5 working hours per week. Depending on your education, experience and overtime, a higher salary can be agreed. As a large corporation, Siemens also offers additional social benefits.
