Overview and Responsibilities:
As a Technical lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth technical operation of a cutting-edge broadcast playout facility dedicated to delivering high-quality content to audiences worldwide. You will assist with overseeing a team of technical personnel and be responsible for assisting with management while maintaining the technical integrity of all broadcast equipment, systems, and workflows. Your technical expertise, project management skills, leadership skills, and attention to detail will be essential in guaranteeing the uninterrupted delivery of content to our viewers.
Responsibilities Include:
• Assist leadership with the success of the broadcast technical team responsible for all Broadcast Service-related infrastructure, playout systems, virtual playout environments, and content monitoring to ensure the highest possible levels of technical and operational continuity for our Paramount brands.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless execution of broadcast initiatives across our global playout centers
• Liase with management to monitor and track delegated assignments to team members, guaranteeing their successful and timely completion.
• Help optimize technical teams and tools for peak performance and efficiency, ensuring effective resource allocation and collaboration to meet departmental goals and problem management.
• Provide essential project management support and expertise to ensure the successful planning, execution, and completion of projects within established timelines
• Contribute to the upkeep of technical documentation and the facilitation of knowledge-sharing endeavors, taking an active role in failure root cause analysis and failure scenario drills while integrating feedback within our documentation
• Demonstrate proficiency in employing an extensive array of software and hardware tools for the analysis and optimization of media systems health
• Troubleshoot complex cloud-based and traditional broadcast playout support systems and global distribution models, including, but not limited to baseband video/audio, encoding, multiplexing, and RF entities
• Troubleshoot enterprise-class infrastructure equipment. This includes, but is not limited to servers, mass storage devices, broadcast proprietary devices, and IT infrastructure equipment
• Work with and understand complex compression, multiplex systems, signal distribution and conversion equipment
• Assist with full-time staff scheduling coverage while applying special care to live and tent-pole events
• Work closely with other departments, including operations, scheduling, and engineering, to help with the execution of live and pre-recorded broadcasts and feeds from 3rd party productions and edit facilities
• Partner with customers and stakeholders to ensure that SLA's, SLO's are being met as well as expectations
• Triage high-priority requests and incidents that are logged, resolved, or raised, using Paramount Incident management software
• Provide on-call support 24 hours per day, 365 per year. Support may entail phone conference, remote support sessions, or physical presence at the facility for equipment failure or other critical outages impacting Paramount's systems
• Work closely with Paramount's L1, L2, L3 infrastructure and applications teams during critical issues as well as after to continually develop technical documentation
Basic Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in Information Technology or Broadcast Media environment and a BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Experience leading a support team and at least one advanced IT certification required, including but not limited to CCNA, MCSA, CDCTP, VMware Certified Professional, Google Cloud Associate Engineer
• Minimum of 3 years of project management experience, with a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects on time and within budget and a proven ability to learn and exhibit engineering-level understanding of a variety of complex broadcast and IT infrastructure environments

• Superb communication skills, verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of broadcast audio/video technologies
• Knowledge of SMPTE standards, especially those based on delivery of video over IP
• Knowledge of Datacenter management and operations
• Knowledge of project and product management tools and systems
• Knowledge of RF and distribution systems
• Knowledge of advanced network infrastructure and systems
• Knowledge of virtual environments and cloud-based technology

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $120,000.00 - 140,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
