Description
The Leidos Multi-Domain Solutions Division has an opening for a Technical Documentation Specialist. The Documentation Specialist will be responsible for writing, editing, and cataloging technical documents such as manuals, procedures, specifications, and audit artifacts for a custom software application and its supporting computing systems. The candidate should be able to work independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with little need for guidance/oversight and be comfortable when managing multiple assignments and short deadlines.
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and cross-functional teams to gather and understand technical information.Write and edit knowledge base articles, operations manuals, configuration plans, administrator guides, contingency plans, and other contract deliverables.Proofread, edit, and format documents for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.Assist in documenting and standardizing internal processes and procedures.Create/edit weekly, monthly, and quarterly status reports to document project progress, as well as ad hoc reports, proposals, and other documents for Leidos management.Compose, compile, and catalog security audit artifacts to support NIST control audits and manage associated deadlinesOrganize and maintain document repositories, version control, and access permissions.Ensure documentation meets editorial and government specifications and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style.
Basic Qualifications
Associate's degree + 8 years or BA/BS + 6 years' experience at minimum.U.S. Citizen required and ability to pass Tier 2 background check.Proven experience as a Documentation Specialist or Technical Writer.Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.Proficiency with Word, Acrobat, PowerPoint, and Publisher.Experience with version control systems and document management tools.Excellent organizational and planning skills.Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly through visuals and text.Flexibility and patience in a high demand/volume work environment with changing priorities.Ability to work independently as well as collaborate as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with agile software development projects.Experience with IT operations and maintenance projects.Knowledge of NIST security control auditing.Jira/Confluence experience or other version control systems and document management tools.Visio (or equivalent) experience.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $61,750.00 - $111,625.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
