Nationwide Fixed and Stable Value products are complex investment options offered to retirement plan clients. These investment options are critical to Nationwide’s competitiveness and profitability. This role will develop and support Fixed and Stable Value products throughout the entire lifecycle and will educate internal and external partners about the benefits of these investment options. The ideal candidate will be expected to acquire a deep product knowledge of Nationwide Fixed and Stable Value products. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Partner with Sales Enablement to further education of the entire suite of Fixed and Stable Value products to internal and external partners, particularly SalesPartner with Actuarial to understand the pricing and modeling of the Fixed and Stable Value product suite; support Actuarial efforts for new products via presentations to the Product Risk CommitteeWork closely with Legal and Compliance on new product filings and endorsements in addition to ensuring effective processes are in place for consistently administering contractual requirements, in addition to understanding the Legal and regulatory landscape and implementing necessary changes across the businessEnsure marketing materials are up to date and available on the Fixed and Stable Value SharePoint site; engage Marketing to update and design new material when necessaryCommunicate with the Office of Investments to obtain information on investment portfolios and strategy; use this information in marketing materials and RFI responsesWork with Case Management and Proposal teams to understand Fixed and Stable Value product prioritiesEffectively educate Operations partners with respect to new Fixed and Stable Value products; support implementation of process changes Lead the Fixed and Stable Value Steering committee with the purpose of communicating initiatives to and obtaining support from Retirement Solutions LeadershipTrain and develop members of the Fixed and Stable Value teamLead the Fund Administration and Communication team

As a Technical Director, you'll develop relationships with and serve as a liaison to all sales channels and organizations. You will serve as an authoritative knowledge resource on fixed/stable value products post-launch. We'll count on you to build appropriate products and service offerings, including education, administration and product initiatives and help in the request for proposal/bid processes in our Workplace Solutions Business.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Develops business cases that support customer acquisition initiatives. Generates multiple solutions that address client/customer needs based on an assessment of the situation.
Facilitates and ensures client understanding of fixed/stable product options and helps to prioritize options.
Partners and negotiates with vice presidents and other senior executives of acquired clients, as well as their business partners, on acquisition opportunities and transition issues.
Develops relationships with and serves as product specialist for all sales partners; external and internal wholesalers, brokers, financial planners, agents, plan sponsors, consultants, firms, business partners or sales representatives.
Supports business strategies, various initiatives and business development.
Looks for alignments or added value from developments across business units and multiple fields. Facilitates problem resolution across business units.
Adapts communications, presentations and influences strategy to match needs of various clients or to appeal to needs of others whose support is important.
Tests ideas with customers to ensure customer needs are understood and incorporated into product/service design. Maintains a detailed understanding of pricing, client needs, market needs and sales positioning.
Serves as a primary point of contact to assist with training, knowledge sharing and/or problem resolution associated with the fixed/stable value solutions. Cross trains peers and team members to increase expertise within the team.
Accountable for the lifecycle management of the fixed/stable value solutions (new and existing).
Leads cross-functional team to design and price products. Works with product and channel managers on product design and pricing to achieve favorable financial results. Leads product development meetings.
Directs the research and development of product design requirements and oversees implementation and launch of products, including development of contracts, regulatory filings, sales ideas, and related literature.
Evaluate primary and secondary research and incorporates key insights into product design.
Develops, coordinates and monitors resource plans and budgets for the area, including all related expense planning and reconciliation.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Vice President, Associate Vice President
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, marketing or related subject area. Insurance licenses or industry designations (i.e. CFA, ARM, CLU, FLMI, ChFC, CFP, NASD, etc.) preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of all products specifically fixed/stable value offerings, regulatory framework governing such products and organization acuity. Develops recommendations relative to individual product positioning in target markets.
Experience: Typically, ten or more years of experience in the financial services-related industry. Experience in fixed/stable value products, retirement plans for the private and public sector markets and financial services.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proven ability to communicate complex financial issues and solutions to prospective end-users of varied product comprehension. Ability to indirectly lead teams in accomplishing similar objectives. Ability to generate and implement solutions to complex problems in a short period of time.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.
