We're currently looking for a Technical Author (Hybrid) to join our DC manufacturing plant in Bognor Regis.
What you'll do:
As the Technical Author you will create a range of documents associated with Eaton DC products including, but not limited to, Installation & Commissioning Manuals, Operations Guides, Maintenance Method Statements, Product Specifications, Quick Start Guides and Planning Information. You will be required to be able to gain an in-depth knowledge of our products at a technical level and work closely with Applications Engineers across multiple projects.
Key responsibilities:
Ensure you are familiar with the company's range of DC productsUnderstand and be able to produce technical documentation covering planning, installation, operation and maintenance of our productsCreate all documentation against specific deadlines and/or project plansAssist the business with tender response documentation including compliance statements, product specifications and datasheetsBe able to create illustrations and rendered images from SolidworksLearn our local MRP system and be able to lookup part numbers and read Bill of Materials (BOMs)Use AutoCAD and Visio where required to draw circuit diagrams and layouts of the productsUnderstand and document assembly and wiring practiceImprove business and departmental processesCollaborate and cooperate with team members to accomplish shared goalsContinuously search for ways to better perform and improve the way we do business
Qualifications:
Degree or Higher Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Business Management or equivalentPrevious experience as a Technical Autor or other engineering function such as design, maintenance, field service etcExperience working in an electrical/electronic design/manufacturing environmentExperience using AutoCAD or Solidworks will be an advantage but is not required
