Booking.com is looking for a Technical Architect to join our Horizontal Business Services department at our Amsterdam headquarters.
About HBS
HBS (Horizontal Business Services) group sits within the Central Tech organisation in B.com, focusing on core platform services within the e-commerce charter of our marketplace. We cover a gamut of core operational platforms such as Order, Identity, and Privacy.
The Technical Architect will join the Privacy Engineering Office to ensure that Booking.com only collects data that the customer has consented to and processes it in ways that honour that consent.
B.Responsible
Technical Leadership Take privacy requirements from the Legal team and turn these into epics that technical teams can deliver. Build a picture of the technical landscape of Booking.com as it relates to privacy. Work with system owners across the organisation to understand what customer data is collected what consent is required, and ensure that we honour this consent. Identify which teams need to be involved across the business units to deliver the privacy requirements and ensure that these requirements are in the teams' backlog. Educate engineers across booking to understand the "why" behind privacy requirements and ensure that everybody considers privacy when building solutions. Support and justify the chosen technical solutions and build a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure feature development and strategy satisfy the business's short- and long-term needs. Strategic support of strategic initiatives while continuously communicating privacy goals, learnings, and aspirations Seeks and remains open to feedback from direct and indirect stakeholders to continuously improve leadership skills Able to influence without having direct authority B.Skilled Problem solver, can identify and analyse complex issues and develop a clear approach to solving them Excellent communication skills, can effectively communicate with stakeholders in different roles and levels, clearly communicate strategic vision and big picture but also specific details.
