This role will lead a team of talented learning designers and partner with program leads, tech leaders and other stakeholders to develop and implement engaging learning assets for our suite of portfolios as well as our cohort programs. This individual will set team priorities and roadmaps, oversee the analysis of learning needs, develop curriculum roadmap, and measure and report on learning effectiveness.
The ideal candidate for this position:
Has experience in successfully leading and developing a team of learning designers and has demonstrated an ability to prioritize design projects across a portfolio and develop team members
Can build trust-based relationships with clients and senior stakeholders to foster credibility throughout the team
Has experience developing and supporting processes that allow team to scale, consistently meet quality expectations and deadlines, and overall add value to the credit community
Understands how people learn and has well-tested ideas on how to help them learn more effectively
Interested in deeply learning more about our core subject matter: How Capital One is developing in the full tech stack
Has deep experience designing and developing learning assets that achieve higher-level learning objectives (application, analysis, evaluation)
Has experience developing immersive classroom learning experiences, with a particular focus on case-based and socratic-style learning
Communicates with a variety of audiences with a dynamic and conversational style in both written and verbal channels
Has an eye for detail and a keen ability to organize, move, select, synthesize, summarize and edit information to make it effective
Key Responsibilities
Lead and empower the Tech College learning design team to included project prioritization, roadmap planning and ensuring high quality deliverables
Facilitate conversations with senior leaders to set high level learning objectives and then review designers work to ensure objectives have been met
Develop the team: teaching best practices and overall developing the skills and abilities of the team members based on performance and deliverable quality, etc. (writing and editing skills, design and development skills, template creation, innovative learning approaches, learning style research and application, assessment development skills, project management, time/attention management, quality review improvement and presentation skills improvement)
Lead the strategy and team to build out our curriculum, with assets designed in both classroom and eLearning format, to enable us to capture critical business lessons learned and scale learning to a broader audience
Increase the effectiveness of existing learning solutions by evaluating feedback and implementing improvements to create an optimal learning experience
Partner with the program manager lead on project timeline goals, establishing an early focus on the implementation needs to ensure effective delivery
Set and achieve challenging team goals that support department and business goals

Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
At least 3 years of People Leadership experience
At least 3 years of experience formulating learning experiences or programs for various audiences
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of experience in leading design teams
4+ years of experience in training design and development
1+ years of experience with learning content development tools, such as, Articulate 360, Adobe Design Suite, and Camtasia)
1+ years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and video editing software)
1+ years of experience working in the Tech or Financial Services industry
