ProMedica Bay Park Hospital caters to communities east of the Maumee River. Our campus includes a state-of-the-art community hospital with 72 private beds and a professional office building dedicated to doctors' offices and outpatient rehabilitation, as well as a treatment and diagnostic center. Position Summary:
Oversees food and nutrition daily services. Ensures that meals are prepared in a regular and consistent manner so that food quality standards are met. Assists in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the department.
Accountabilities:
Supports nutrition production which may include cafeteria, patient services, catering and /or retail.
Supports supervisor in collecting data for department records and reports as needed. Supports supervisor in the continuing education and development of the nutrition staff.
Supervises day-to-day work activities by assigning, prioritizing and monitoring operating standards.
Trains new employees on departmental procedures, equipment, kitchen safety, competency assessment and quality.
Identifies problems and recommends solutions related to work flow.
Maximizes cost efficiency and productivity in the use of all resources of the department and organization.
Attends all required department events, staff meetings, and any other job-related functions. Attends and successfully completes all mandatory trainings.
Communicates and interacts with co-workers and all others in a pleasant and professional manner at all times.
Participates as a team player in all phases of the organization: and is open and responsive to change.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of one year related food service, dining or kitchen experience is required.
Basic computer knowledge is required.
Ability to function in a team environment.
Ability to respond effectively and efficiently to crucial situations involving patient, personnel and visitors in a professional manner.
Must be able to move about the hospital and between work stations; and prolonged periods of standing.
Must be reliable and responsible.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
Must be able to to frequently move, lift or carry materials medium to heavy weight equipment, materials. Weighing up to 30 lbs., 20% of the time.
