What you’ll do on a typical day:
Leading and directing employees under supervision
Operations of assigned department while maintaining quality control processes and procedures
Completing new trailer build including quality and safe work behaviors
Inspection of and ensuring DOT compliance or repaired or reconditioned trailers
Perform inspections diagnose and repair air/electrical issues on all new trailers
Perform inspections, diagnose and repair issues with trailer body, chassis, suspension, axles, brakes, ABS system
Perform preventative maintenance inspections to comply with DOT Regulations.
Assist in the completion of all tags
Maintains 5S environment
Consistently maintains a professional demeanor and communicates in a respectful and collaborative manner
Follows direction, is engaged and productive and is flexible and adaptable to changing conditions and expectations
Collaborates with and supports other members of the company
Maintains punctual, regular, and reliable attendance
Demonstrates the Company’s core values and complies with all Company policies and procedures
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you’ll need:
2 years of related work experience
Ability to read, understand, and follow job orders, blueprints and plan of work procedures
Inspect parts for wear, visually and catalog all individual parts for repair and/or replacement as necessary
Good communication skills
Ability to lead and direct other employees
It would be nice if you had:
High school diploma or equivalent
Electrical experience
Ability to perform work in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work outside if necessary
Ability to safely walk, reach (including above head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel as necessary to perform the job duties
